The defense has been needing strengthened all summer , yet we throw in 2 rookies in our biggest game again , boyata and simunovic must surely be better , using up all the goodwill with the fans with these constant loan signings too each season to patch the squad up, and if dembele or tierney gets sold it doesn't take fans long to turn and * gets ugly.

Did you listen or read his recent interview about transfers?
He says himself the board have * him over bringing in quality and are not pressing on with transfers he wants.
He didn’t even know about the Arzani transfer!
Lawell taking his sons clubs development player and forcing him on BR as a ‘signing’.
He said he isn’t asking for half a dozen signings just 2 of real quality.
Musonda didn’t work out. Compper is a disaster.
Both of those were BR signings I believe.

I also believe our scouting is at this time atrocious and people are being paid for * all.
BR seems to look to England’s leagues for signings telling me he is going with what he knows which I’m not entirely happy with as we should have our net cast very wide.
Holland, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Serbia etc are leagues we should be scouting non stop for emerging talent.
This seems to have stopped suddenly.

BR isn’t blameless but when he is winning Trebles and qualifying for CL with essentially Ronny Deilas team he needs backed to the hilt - and history shows Lawell won’t.
One of them will go and guess what? It won’t be Lawell

    Hail Hail

MON left as his wife was ill.
The wages needed to come down, simple as that.
    I will agree with Fletcher.
Mowbray was backed financially from what I remember. Fan pressure helped Lenny get the job, I don't know anyone that was gutted the 'cheap option' was Lenny.
RD wasn't, to begin with, appointed as the manager, he was to be Lenny's assistant. Lenny then decided to walk and that left the Club with little time to find a replacement, before the season started, so RD was promoted to manager.
Aberdeen finished 17 points behind us that season so not much danger we would have lost the league to them ffs. Plus we had a vastly superior goal difference. We also witnessed one of the worst decisions in football at Hampden which robbed us of a chance of a treble.
If we have a go at Lawwell let's get the basics right at least mate.

It's a NO then. I think this might be the beginning of a fractious relationship between BR and Lawwell et al. I hope i'm wrong but it's a disgrace the way this transfer window has gone.

Absolute disgrace that it's got to the stage that reporters even need to ask the question. Our transfer business should have been done quickly and done early to set us up with the best chance of getting through these CL qualifiers as possible.

Brendan is a fan too like we are........therefore his ambition and the board's are a million light years apart.........i really thought this time because of our dominant position there might have been a bit more of a speculate to accumulate strategy but alas same old Celtic Board back to scrimping. I've never really known it any different....yeah, MON was backed but i clearly remember his interview after Villareal the year after Seville......we were riding high then and he basically said he had taken us as far as he could based on our finances. I liked WGS, not the most popular view but he was getting irked in the end too.....he did really well for us but think it was as much our own support as much as anything that drove him. Mowbray was a * disaster and less said the better. Roll on Lenny the cheap option (shock horror) who again did really well but he hit the impasse Brendan's now at but wasn't quite so public about it!! Poor Ronny was just a patsy for these * while the huns were away!!

This board haven't in my memory and sadly probably won't change one * bit unless the heat's turned up to full and even then.....ahhh fuckit!!

I remember a classic from that * John Reid........remember when he started spouting and gloating about what the orcs had done and we would never dream of that financial recklessness......well here's the thing John boy.......there's a whole * big space between what these idiots did and showing just a wee bit of ambition sometimes to keep the natives a but happier beacuse of their loyalty.

    *.You.Celtic.Board.

Look mate, I don't like the board's inaction as much as the next guy but I've followed the club long enough to know the board are what they are. We will always run a tight ship. Not everyone agrees, and get * off with it, but our current outlay must be massive.

Too many muppets want to go on about VVD sale and add ons and champions league money and all the rest of it. We will be planning two or three seasons in advance.

The board will have to plan for worst case scenario, ie. maybe not qualifying for europe at all for a couple of seasons.

So in the event of this, if we don't want to lose all our best players, we have to ne ultra careful. I don't always lime that, but I get it.

When Brendan worked at Liverpool I'm sure there was a transfer committee, and he didn't have full say over who came in. So he doesn't get what he wants. He still has the best squad in Scotland. We focus on our domestic league. Anything else is a bonus.

Cant take this team any further with the measly funds being provided, who can blame him if he walks.

Honestly the fact we've got from the joy of a double treble and open top bus parades to this sorry state is something only Celtic could do, we're in a league of our own when it comes to * things up from positions of strength, most talented manager in years and the board can't even keep him happy.

Iv been reading a few comments regarding lack of players coming in and like the majority i find it disappointing and frustrating considering the successful spell we have had.

Does anybody know why we are so inactive in the trans fare market?i know people are blaming the board and perhaps that,s true but if it is then why are the board refusing to spend?

I have heard many people pointing the finger of blame but i havnt heard any real reason for the inactivity ,is it really just the board being tight with the funds?or is it a case of players not wanting to come to Scotland?

Lawwell's driveway must be due for a refurb.
