Aye, looks like everything is pointing to him joining villa. Why would anyone join a championship side over us? Baffling.

 

If its been delayed this long after being shown round their training complex yesterday something has threw a spanner in the works.

 

They can offer him first team football, although that will conveniently be left out of all reports when its reported he chose he championship over us .....

 

I think it's n to our board fannying about with the transfer. Within 2 days villa have spoke to mcginn agreed a fee and going by reports. The player is having a medical. Lawell and the rest of the money men need to wake the * up. I am convinced that Rodgers isn't in charge of transfers at all. If the board keep this up. I can't see Rodgers staying with us.

 

It's actually a brass neck that we've chased Mcginn who's apparently a die hard celtic man for months then Villa steal him from under our noses for the sake of a few hundred grand. Squad player or not BR wanted him and the board have failed to deliver.

Some of the posts in here are embarrassing.

The rest of Scottish football no matter how close their ties to us aren’t there for us to pick at when we see fit.

Of course they want the most money for THEIR player.

We * around like usual trying to penny pinch and now we might not get the player.

If John signs for Villa it’s nobodies fault but our own.

 

We really don’t come out looking good if he joins Villa. There’s obviously a lot of complexity around transfers that we aren’t aware of, but if Rodgers identifies a player in Scotland with links to the club, and a year to run on his contract, we should be able to get it over the line without too much hassle, and ideally at the start of the window.

Still hopeful we land him, but in all honesty he should’ve been signed in time to join the squads pre-season work and play his part in tonight’s game.

 

Still don't think it's a massive loss to not get the player, but the concern is our boards reluctance to get what Brendan wants and put the money into the team.

Why the * would you stockpile cash and not spend it on your main * attraction??? You don't sell 55k season tickets for a hotel and some nice fancy lights.

 

We will sorely regret this one.

the only reason for not spending is we must be going to pay off the co-op long term loans that will cost us £16m and go debt free then accrue debt to build the hotel and put some cash down for it.

 

Aye. That’s the reason ... nothing to do with the wages eh.

 

* the hotel, it's not like most of the support will able to afford to stay in it. More likely for entertaining suits.
