Sky talk absolute pish, last week apparently Brighton were going to bid for him according to them. He wants the move here that’s been clear for years, he certainly aint going to chose Aston Villa over us

He's not the type of player we need to progress in europe. I feel that is more of a fact than just my opinion. For me the type of player we need is someone who can have posession of the ball and find a bit of space and slow a game down. McGinn is the type of player who would maybe run with the ball 20 or 30 yards up the field, but we have players (edouard,forrest,rogic etc) who can do that.

 

If Rodgers wants him then we need to get him signed.

Yes he only has a year left on his contract, but it’s an investment for now and the future. McGinn is the type who you’d imagine would be here for a number of years.

Just pay the * money.

The bits I’ve seen of Kouassi I quite like but a full season on loan(at a good level/where he plays) might be better.
He’s only played about 15 first team games in his career, and Rodgers obviously doesn’t fully trust him yet.
We’ve currently got Scott Brown playing with an injury(again) but we simply don’t have anyone to play the role he does.
That’s why I was indifferent about McGinn, good luck to the kid, I just think we need a Wanyama type more.
Someone more aggressive, more power and height, and ideally technically good with experience.
I love Ntcham and McGregor, but like Brown and McGinn, they’re about 5’9”.
A destroyer in midfield for me would give us more options, especially for example a game like Saturday morning(after a huge game tomorrow night) against Hearts away.

 

I would imagine they will be. Championship clubs are fighting to get in a league where the team that comes last gets about £100m and if they want someone then they will fork out more than Celtic.

 

Let's face it, we will never outplay the big teams in Europe. The way I see it, we need players who can press the ball. McGinn is exactly like that. Never stops running. That's exactly what we need in Europe (at least imo).

Still hope we 'll sign him. I 'll be very disappointed if we don't.

 

I don't believe the talk that Hibs won't sell to us at any price, they are a business at the end of the day and i can't see them turning down more money just to spite us, it would be unprofessional of them.

 

It's not about out-playing them it's just getting people who won't lose the ball under the slightest pressure which, it has to be said, an unhealthy amount of our players do in Europe.

 

That would be ideal, but those sort of players are difficult to find on a cheap. Wanyama was an incredible exception to that.
