I echo the concerns of some regarding the board backing Brendan.. BUT, did we really need to spend that kind of money on McGinn? As said, we have midfielders in abundance, and sold an arguably better player in McGeogh just a few seasons ago..

Who's to say he will go down to villa and be a superstar? There's every chance he struggles and we pick him up in two years time when broony is slowing down for even cheaper than what gives wanted.

If not, who gives a *. He's not worth more than Ntcham and we have players like Kouassi who need game time. We don't need another CM.

I wasn't saying he was a superstar . I was saying it was reminiscent of the way we handled that transfer. Ultimately it cost us the league that year and the only * we signed was willo flood. it's not the same circumstances but the way we dealt with it are similar.

It’s an absolute myth to say Fletcher would’ve won us the league though.

It would have went a long way to it, Jan was on his * but that point and our strike force looked tired and outdated. Fletcher and McDonald would have went a long way to letting us keep that 7 point lead we had in January.

Instead Celtic gambled, we * about and we thought ack we’re ahead Willo Flood will do. We didn’t strengthen our team from a position of strength. The time had lost heart, a fresh injection of talent in there would have been very welcome.

Forgot all about the Vvd transfer, so even more money in the bank. Yes you could say what more can the fans ask for? back to back trebles, but no matter how well you are doing, every squad needs new faces every season, for competition and to improve, not only that it’s glaringly obvious we have areas that need strengthening, Cb,Rb and another winger.

If the club has any ambition to go further in Europe, then we must improve the squad season after season and there’s no reason why we can’t with the money we have. Brendan ain’t going to stick around for long if he isn’t given funds to improve the squad.

A good football player can earn the average annual salary in one week at Celtic. He is certainly in a position to turn down a move to a club in England.

@Britwell bhoy @Cumbernauld Bhoy67 its actually a myth the £7m for VVD it was anything from £7.5m to £9.37m when I was at an end of year dance Lenny's agent was there and he claimed he heard it was 12.5% sell on we had on VVD when he was talking to some boys at the bar no whether that's the case or not remains to be seen come the accounts in a months time but lets say that's the truth £9.37m plus £7m Stu and £1.3m for Erik that's £17.67m and we spent a reported £9m on Eirk so that's profit of £8.67m plus on that we triangle our account period 1st July to date will show zero spent to date.

That’s true, but going by recent interviews from the likes of Open Goal, players are usually attracted to wherever the higher offer is.

Put it this way weve got to make signings before the window closes and not just 1, Mcginn would have been a good yin to bring in after all the bluster about replacing Armstrong and Roberts in the squad then looking at other positions brendan said ..we look like missing out on mcginn and haggling for a loan deal for arzani.

If he signs for Villa, we’ve lost the poker game..

But as I’ve always said him wanting it with us was a massive thing for me...
