We've kind of been through this a million times on this thread.

Wasn't brought up a Celtic fan, no emotional attachment to the club. That can be difficult for me and you to comprehend. At 26, he's won back to back domestic trebles in Scotland. He's then given the chance to go and and play in the EPL and earn a * tonne more money for a * of a lot less work. We got £7m for the guy and he was going into the last year of his contract. Everyone's a winner.

The resentment that he may actually go on and be successful in his career after Celtic is something I've never quite understood

I can't get my head around that attitude. I can understand those that think once they are no longer our player they have no interest in them, but to actively want them to fail? It doesn't do the club any good should he fail either, as it will not encourage other teams to pay the inflated fees we are looking for for our players (or sell on fees).

I just think he's a money grabbing * that should have went last season. Can't stick him at all.

Only a few go on and be successful after Celtic I would rather it not be him.

Does us no good at all to have players going down south and failing, our transfer policy is largely built around signings performing at Celtic and then English clubs take interest.

If they all start failing, English will stop calling. You can see the knock on effect Wanyama and especially VVD have had, £10m not the ceiling anymore, even Hibs seem to be basing McGinns value off the back of our Armstrong deal.

On SSN the wee bar at the side shows transfers in and out of the premiership and fees.

It's actually showing Armstrong Celtic to Southampton 8m , thought it was only 7m we got ?

Yes you're right, Armstrong is pretty childish. Could've at least signed a 3 year minimum contract and made sure we got the maximum fee we could've got for him.

... I think not doing that and taking care of his own personal finances instead of the companies is practically the opposite of childish.

We got £7 million for him. Considering he had a great 7/8 month spell in the 3(?) years he was here...I find it weird how you can complain about that fee.

I haven’t got much emotional investment in Armstrong however I think we need all our former players to do well for the good of the club.

Them failing gives excuses for * offers like £10m odd for Victor * wWanyama.

    This.

As long as a player doesn’t act like a * and completely disrespects the club, I’ll always want them to succeed down in the EPL.

The Van Dijk story can only enhance our reputation as a club that develops players.

Interesting if he finds another bit of form while he looks to get another rung up the ladder.
