There we go, was only a matter of time before other teams start putting in bids near the end of the window.

It doesn’t matter who bids if the player doesn’t want to go.

If there is any truth in it, it would be a tempting offer..

As I say tho, he wants to be here which is part of the draw of him.. so if he goes to Brighton then he didn’t want it enough..

Why the * are we still chasing this guy? I mean he is a decent player and under Brendan will probably become even better but a drawn out transfer saga for a Hibs player isn't exactly filling me with confidence.

Either we believe he is worth what Hibs are asking in which case we should just pay the fee, or we don't agree with their valuation and should have walked away weeks ago.

When attempting to qualify for the CL and make an impact while there, getting consistently knocked back for a player from Hibs is depressing.

He might be thinking we never wanted him enough either. The fact that Brighton will offer him double what we do in wages is a big factor.

How do you know he wont want to? Move to the EPL with a big bump in wages will be tempting for him if we don't match their offer.

I think we were hoping he wouldn’t attract interest from England and that we would give Hibs a take it or leave it offer once the EPL window shuts and they have no other bidders.

I’d say £2.5m and Allan is fair.

The fact that he wants to sign for us is another reason for it.

100%, the penny pinching might make McGinn feel a bit undervalued as well, he’s definitely worth more than the amounts we’ve offered so far.

None of us know what the player wants, all I’m going on is that he wants to play for Celtic at some stage in his career. If he goes to the greatest league in the universe for money then fair enough, as I said the player is basically in control here.

While i think Rodgers is waiting on the English transfers to shut before we do buisness, this one has now become a farce.

Get him signed or tell hibs to * off......Nothing over the top no way anything over 2m.

And im one of the few that like Allan :(

    Give them Hendry :)

I think * are just getting the point the point that Lawwell is a gambler when it comes to the team. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

He’s gambling on McGinn’s support for him to come to us, he’s gambling on James Forrest’s support letting his contract get to this stage, he’s gambling on Scott Brown’s loyalty to allow us to get to this stage.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. He’s always been like this. He done the same to Jackie Mcnamara and it didn’t, he done the same to Joe Ledley and it didn’t work.

It isn’t about Hibs making us flap, it’s about a pattern of behaviour that I find detrimental to the team. Even if it helps with the books sometimes.

Few things * me off with this - We should not be relying on the player wanting to play for us and using that as an excuse to try and drive the price down, while not the exact same comparison but imagine if we had done that with Broony. Also, within reason, I have no problem paying Hibs the going rate as I would prefer us to spend the money in the Scottish game.

Hang tight comrades, if he’s desperate to come here and play for Brendan and Celtic then they can bid what they like, he’s going nowhere.

Can't say I'm remotely bothered by this.

He isn't going to improve our squad much.

So if he does leave, I hope it is to an English team so that Hibs can get as much money for him as they can, to reinforce their own squad and maintain compeition in the league for second.

He was asking for an extension for two years, we * about with it because he wanted to stay, then we * about with the negotiations expecting it to be an easy aye he’ll just stay, there was back and forth and Lawwell shat himsefl and accepted the first bid that cane in for him.

When a club doesn’t want you, you leave.
