That's brilliant. He's so funny and you can see that in every training ground picture.

Love what he says about Lustig, Callum, KT, Jamesy and can totally understand it.

    Griff comments were hilarious :56:

Poor Jack though that was brutal

Every player trains differently you get players like Brown and Tierney who put in a shift and go through the gears all the time.

then you get players like Dembele' relaxed and casual but have all the class.

Scott Brown, the Celtic captain, has insisted that he would trust Brendan Rodgers “with his life” as he maintained that he believes the Parkhead side will improve again this term whether there are further new arrivals or not.

Celtic have made goalkeeper Scott Bain and Odsonne Edouard permanent members of the squad after signing them on long-term contracts this summer, with the outlay for Edouard a club record fee believed to be almost £9m.

That has been offset by the sale of Stuart Armstrong to Southampton for £7m while defender Erik Sviatchenko headed back to FC Midtyjlland for £1m

Celtic have had three bids for Hibernian and Scotland midfielder John McGinn knocked back by the Easter Road side this summer and there has been some frustration on the part of supporters at the lack of further new additions to the squad.

There has been a hint of discord over the lack of signings with Rodgers clipped at times when asked about the ongoing nature of his enquiries for players.

Celtic will head to Trondheim this afternoon in preparation for the second leg of the UEFA second round Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg with a threadbare defence following injury and suspension issues.

It seems to have become something of a perennial issue for the club to be exposed at this point in this season, as they look to negotiate a difficult qualification process to the group stages of Europe's premier competition.

Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig were given additional time off after their involvement at the FIFA World Cup while Jozo Simunovic is suspended and Marvin Compper has an adductor injury.

Brown, though, was vocal in his belief that whatever squad is there when the transfer window closes at the end of August is one which Rodgers can continue to get the best out of.

We've got a great squad in that dressing room," he said. "We all stick together on and off the park. We are a very tight knitted group and if the manager wants to bring someone in then we have all faith in him to bring someone in. But if he doesn't believe we need anyone then I think we can do the business with the squad we have got.

"We have got Ryan Christie and Scott Allan too, we have Mikey Johnston and Calvin Miller coming through too. We have got two young ones coming through and two experienced ones who have played in the Premiership who have come back into the squad."

And Brown has revealed that he came back from his summer holiday in better shape than when he went off on it.

“The games seem to help me, I get stronger and stronger as they go on," he said. "Last year I felt great all the way through the season.

“My fitness levels are not a problem,” he said. “It’s just a question of avoiding injuries and making sure I keep ticking over every week.

“I looked after my body well in the summer and came back in better nick than I was at the end of the year.

Surely just to keep the press happy.

I'm extremely sceptical and would be equally worried, if both Brown and Rodgers felt Allan and Christie are of the quality required. Which I don't, btw.

Definitely need to get the * finger out, though, or there will be a * storm if we don't strengthen, and rightly so.

Sounds like we've sent Broony out with the message to play down our lack of signings. It's slightly worrying tbh, we clearly have targets and the money to pay for them but we are dragging our heels. Hugely frustrating.

Just realised, he'll break the 500 appearances barrier for the club, this season. Currently on 476 appearances for the club, so he should reach the 500 mark before Christmas, barring injury.

Think he looked a bit off the pace last night, and in the previous qualifying matches. Not his usual self.

SCOTT BROWN limped home in pain from Celtic’s last European game in Norway.

But the Hoops skipper will proudly stride into the history books in the next one.

Next week’s Champions League clash with AEK Athens will go down as Brown’s 100th Euro appearance.

It will be a remarkable landmark that no other Scot has hit before.

But Celts boss Brendan Rodgers isn’t the least bit surprised that Broony has racked up so many Euro games.

Rodgers said: “Scott has had an issue with his Achilles, at the same time as he did last year, but he is fine.

“He will be in to recover before the Livingston game, and he will soldier on like he always does, and play himself out of it.

“We will see how Scott is with it. Sometimes players work better when they are in rhythm.

“But he had exactly the same thing this time last year, so I think it is just a case of getting through it over these next two to three weeks, and hopefully it will be fine. With Broony I think that he is getting recognised now for the great career he has had — and is still having. He is a wonderful leader.

“To play that number of European games you have got to be fit, so it is a great testament to how he looks after himself and his fitness.

“Scott has made himself available for all these games.

“He is wonderful example for all our players, both senior and youth.

“Broony’s leadership qualities, and his drive and hunger to play is admirable. Hopefully he has got many more games to come.

“He has just got this in built love of football.

“You get to that stage in your life and your career where you know you aren’t 21 or 22, and the brain starts to talk to you a little bit more.

“Then you recognise you need to maximise things every time you train and every time you play. Scott is a mature guy now and he appreciates it a lot more. He is just embracing it all. He has been brilliant in my time here. I am so proud he is captain of Celtic.”

Brown will lead Celts into their league opener against Livingston with Rodgers urging his squad to build on back to back Trebles — and be even BETTER this season.

    Just * leave him out..

I know how important he is but this need to have him playing through niggles and never getting a break will end up costing us and him this season..
