Tierney’s crossing... I honestly have nae idea what games you watch sometimes but I doubt it’s Celtic.

I have no idea what games you're watching lad? when Tierney gets past his player in the final third more than half of his crosses don't find a target cause he's got his head down!
Maybe you watch a highlights reel on youtube and only see his good crosses ? Also this was in response to Gamboa not having enough 'technical ability' for us

Look at Kolarov or Marcelo, they're the full backs that you can say consistently deliver good balls into the box in top leagues. Not saying Tierney's crossing is awful cause it isn't, but there have been times where a rush of blood to the head has stopped us from scoring or getting a shot away. Wonder when the last time we scored from open play with a header was ?

Thanks to Notorious- Obviously Tierney will be making more misplaced passes since he is higher up the field (More pressure) than lustig but it doesn't hide the fact that some of his passing/crossing could be better. 7 assists in the league last season, 1 less than the huns fullback but Tierney has played 6 less games. Even richard tait got more assists in the same amount of games...

Anyway back on topic - Gamboa

Our best right back for the style we play, once we swapped to a 433 him and Forrest were causing them all sorts of problems, same with KT and Sinclair down the left, that's when the gaps started appearing.

Considering he's barely played for us that was a solid performance and might of just put himself in the team.

The majority of the time Tierney does a low, pin point cut back straight to a persons toes. It’s why he’s one of our most creative ever fullbacks and season upon season has been around the top of the assist charts

He's one who always gives 100% and has crazy pace about him.

He's just not good enough tho to be your number 1 over a full season

18 assists in 80 league games is a solid record but the way your going on its as if everything Tierney touches goes to gold, he's averaging the same assists as richard tait- all I'm saying is Tierney should be getting a lot more assists with the positions he gets into, especially since he is the only full back playing an attacking role for us.

Far better than Lustig, actually plays the ball forward, looks for a one - two. Mystery as to why he hasn't played.

Yeah shame Richard Tait was also in a team that conceded almost double the amount of goals in the league as us, the same for Rangers.

And where did I say richard tait was good a defender? I said he had more assists in the league than Tierney which is a fact. Tierney is one of the best defenders in recent years and deserves all the praise he gets, all I stated was his crossing isn't his strongest point and should be getting more assists/decent balls into the box if he lifted his head up. Gamboa > Lustig

Now I didn't real your whole post but tierney a deliveries and crossing are super. He powers them in low and hard does be just unlucky sometimes that forwards aren't in the position for it. Some of his cutbacks are absolutely spot on. Watch the likes of Alba and alves etc. They drive the ball in at pace like kt hoping someone gets on the end of it and it's always dangerous as it can go anywhere

The consistency in his crossing/cut backs was extremely good when he first broke through up until the end of Rodgers’ first season. Last season though the quality had dropped a bit and I can see what the above poster is saying. Still, he has a very good assist record and his end product is amazing when you compare it to Izaguirre’s, who in turn * on most recent LB’s apart from Tierney.

With under a year left on his deal would be surprised if he’s still here at the end of the window..

Last season he played higher up really and would cut in to pass to Sinclair and was sort of marked like a winger. Harder to get them crosses, when he's played more defensively as a full back and not a wing back he can get up to overlap and won't be marked as heavily as say Sinclair so easier for him to get a better cross... That's my little weird theory haha

And have grandad Lustig playing every game of a long season with Ralston deputising?

Keep Gamboa at all costs if we don’t sign a RB

Gamboa deserves his chance in the team now I think. What more can he do really? Our shape with 4 at the back looked good too. Hopefully he gets given more chances to impress. Is a definite upgrade atm on lustig and ralston

I don't fancy having any of them at right back this year. I have seen nothing of Gamboa to even start him in the league cup.

Gamboa cant defend and hes at his weakest with the cross ball as he's pish in the air. We need a new right back who can defend.
