Has to be serious questions asked of the medical staff. I know it seems like it affects your own club more but its always the same recurring short term injuries to the same players for us.

Still got Edouard in the meantime anyway hardly a disaster when u can call on a 9m player ,time to fulfill his early promise.

Part of the problem is probably the rushing back, there is no easy period of our season where we can give players time off. Massive games in July and August, Derbies, Cup semis and finals and CL in September - December, Internationals all the time. Players always needing to be rushed back for big games never really getting the extra 2 weeks off they probably need to fully heal.

Then in the summer they only get 4 weeks off at best, usually less with Internationals after usually 11 month 65-75 game seasons of travelling all over Europe Club and Internationally.

At the same time worked miracles for Forrest and Lustig

He got injured the first couple of games back last season as well and missed our whole qualifying campaign, based on his injury history maybe Rodgers should've taken him off at half time last week.

Seems to struggle to stay free of injuries. Frustrating as he came back into pre season in good condition. Agree with the notion that he should have been rested for the home leg of Alashkert. Will miss some of our most important games of the season now. Poor handling of him if we are all being honest.

Aye people were talking about momentum and getting up to speed, but anyone watching him in pre season could see he was looking dynamite..

Sitting him out knowing we had a tougher game this week and his history, seemed a no brainer now we have Edouard..

On the plus side, he deffo won't be away in this window now..

Rodgers is shocking for not resting players I think, he plays the best XI pretty much every single game he can even where there is no need. In his time here theres been 10+ games easy where he could have rested players, in the Invincible season I thought he kept playing the same team just because of the unbeaten run which was fair enough but he did it again last season and then has done it again this season, even in the friendlies he was playing the same team lol

Don't understand at all why he doesnt give the odd player 1 or 2 games off when they aren't needed. Forrest has been run into the ground for a long time now and even against that diddy team last week where we were under no pressure at all he still played him. Same in the League last season, most of the last 6/7 League games were meaningless games where we could have rested Forrest who played loads of games even though Roberts would be pish defenively in he wing-back role he'd have been playing it shouldnt have been much of a concern as the games were glorified friendlies.

Exactly, its a set back that could have been avoided. With Griffiths out it leaves us short in what on paper is arguably our strongest area on the pitch.

Hopefully Rogic coming back in gives us a bit extra. But now we really need Edouard to step up and show why we pushed the boat out for him.

I can see his thinking because the partnership with Edouard was looking deadly but you're right, there has to be a bit of common sense. Dembele has been plagued with hamstring injuries and we've only just started the season..

We'd played him 45 where he tore Liege apart 3 day's after Armenia so there was no need tore play him 3 day's later in a dead rubber..

Agree about Forrest. It's a certainty to catch him with the roles he's playing week in week out. Was desperate for him to be subbed midweek..

General consensus re Dembele injury seems to be "ahh at least we are in a better position than last year" which is true...

But the recurring injuries are starting to become an annoyance - Griff (calf) and Moussa (hamstring)! I appreciate there is bad luck involved but surely more could be done by our medical team to prevent these recurring injuries?

    A total nightmare..

Why Brendan played him against Alashkert is a mystery..

    Was completely avoidable..

    Not good.

Hopefully not going to be another stop start season for him.

Its getting to the stage that whenever I see him running full pelt chasing the ball I worry.

This. Guy has chocolate hamstrings. Love Moussa but his fitness is a worry. Bring in another striker. This happens all to frequently now

    * bleak. We've got a top class striker and can't get him playing on a regular basis.
