So if the rumours are true Tierney and his agents have agreed a deal behind the clubs back, how does that fit into the ‘board are forcing him out’ argument?

If this is true then the tone is certainly set. No one is safe. The board can’t turn down an offer over £20m in any circumstances. Not even the biggest fans can stay at Celtic if a team like Everton come calling. Celtic is firmly a selling club and no longer belongs in the CL. It would mean that Everton will be facing a possible transfer embargo from UEFA, as dealing with a player without the ok from the owner club is illegal when the player got more than six months left on his contract. Doubt that is the case though, Everton would never take such risks.

 

Because they have moved on several players for the money, already raked in 7m from Armstrong on top of CL millions no way is Tierney ready to go anywhere just after signing a 6 year deal and committing his future to the club. He's the only defender we have ffsk.

From Van Dijk (not replaced) to Wanyama,Forster,McGeady etc always been a selling club and selling Tierney would be the final straw for some.

Don't buy into the board are forcing him out theory, if he goes it'll be because he wants to.
