Brendan saying it would be morally wrong to stand in Kieran’s way and I get that but fact of matter he is only 21 and could stay here for another 4 years and still have 8-10 years down south

Shocking if they do we have over £40m cash in the bank we don’t need the money! You are taking so much out the team if they do!

Rodgers said: “It will be down to the club in the end.

“If an astronomical fee comes in for a player and he has wages to match that, the transfer window can dictate he may have to go. Of course, we would love to keep our players for the qualification phase and get right through it.

“But I can never say everyone will definitely stay. The club may get an offer they can’t refuse”

To me that’s a nod to say he is off and has been told so by Peter!

What if he rejects the move? I think the board realise that the backlash they'd get from this would be monumental trying to force him out the club. Couldn't see them risking it,,,,,,,hopefully haha

He'd probably be looking at a lot more than £50/60k a week as well. Would likely be closer to £100k a week.

All the well established EPL teams like Everton now run on about £160-200million a season, meaning they can easily have wagebills of about £130-150million or basically whole squads on £100k a week.

Im sure Klaassen who joined them last summer is on £100k a week. £50k a week now to an Everton would be a squad player like a Ki Sung Yueng not a big starting XI player.

Nah I think the board don’t give a * about the fans tbh mate we shouldn’t be selling any first team players this window at all we don’t need the money at all and I don’t know Kieran but I don’t see him saying “eh peter I want to go to Everton mate so accept the bid”

That's how I was taking it..

Could be reading into it a bit too much but he seemed to go in to far too much detail about it and striving to improve down here..

There's honest and Frank and then there's talking too much..

He did the same about Moussa in January..

I just saw someone on KDS saying this, and it sort of sums it up for me...

"Rodgers speaking as if he’s an outsider there rather than the manager."

Got the same feeling when I was reading the article.

    Bit early for that..

Concerning word's but we've spent 6-9 or whatever on a top young forward. Signed 2 first team star's up on long term contracts, as well as seem to be keeping Moussa. That doesn't even cover him saying about the right back, winger and centre mid he was talking about earlier..

    Can see him going.

Anyone thinking he’d be here for life was deluding themselves.

He could easily become the best LB in the EPL and every club in the world could end up wanting him. No matter how much of a fan he is no footballer is going to stay in Scotland when they’ve got the potential to be one of the very best.

The money as well would be hard to turn down, big Celtic fan or not. If you are on £15k a week, and someones offering you £5million up front and £100k a week for example, you'd think "fuckinhell, I could do my ACL next week and be * or I could be guarenteed £25million by age 25".
