We’ll regret it if we sell him. He’s going to be a top defender. I could count on one hand the amount of poor games he’s had for us and even at that I’d be struggling.

His positioning and timing of the challenge is excellent and picks up so much pace when he gets going.

Needs to bulk up a bit and avoid injuries but he’s got it all for me. Torino don’t sign * players and we got off the hook big time when the deal fell apart. Unless he wants to go we’d be daft to just get rid of him.

I'd sell for 5-6m, will always love him for that tackle on Kenny Miller, but think we could get a more reliable replacement for that money

 

For a time in Brendan’s first season it looked like he was starting to grow in to his potential but he’s too injury prone and doesn’t seem like he’s got the desire to succeed. Shame as I liked him.

 

Best thing about hearing this is we must be lining a first team centre back up..

Good player when he wants to be but is injury prone, doesn't want to be here and had a shocking season just gone..

 

He is injury prone and can't play more than a few games a week. If we got anything near 5-6 million for him I would take it.

In saying that who's to say he would pass a medical for another side?

If we did get that reported fee would should be going out and spending that on a better quality replacement.

Agreed if he goes along with Sviatchenko that leaves us with 2 experienced cb's in Boyata and Compper and 2 Inexperienced ones in Ajer and Hendry then we could maybe bring a quality one in wich is more than enough.

 

Love the big man, but he's too good to be sat on the bench. £5million a'int enough, but £6M means we probably want a bit more.

As I said at the start of the window, I fully expect all CB except Ajer and Hendry to leave this summer.

 

That will never happen too much upheaval and we have yet to see what Compper can do given an extended run injury free ..1 out in Simunovic 1 will come in and Boyata will stay.

Considering the price we apparently paid for him and was considered a first team player isn’t really good enough.

Being only 23 it doesn’t look good for him if you are that * with injuries so early on in your career

 

If him or Boyata are to leave then I'd rather we keep Boyata tbh, on their day I'd probably rate Simunovic better but there's always going to be question marks over fitness and his apparent issue with artificial pitches, we'd get more out of Boyata long term.

 

£5m would recoup what we spent...

If we could get rid of Boyata and Simunovic for over £10m and bring in two upgrades I’d be delighted..being banging on for ages that both aren’t good enough..

 

The club won't regret it, no point in him hanging around if he won't improve and then him leaving on a free. I think the £5m offer from Lille is a great one and makes me think they are bat * crazy. I thought he was pitiful in Europe.
When he gets going, yeah, but more often than not he doesn't get going.

Torino don't sign * players? Bollocks, they were in Serie B not that long ago and are still only a mid table club in Serie A which is not the league it once was. Anyway I thought the Torino rumours were a couple of years ago.

I see more potential in Ajer and Hendry.

 

he has a deal to 2021 that's a bit long to hang around, I think he will go this summer as will Boyata people saying "no chance Boyata will stay" not if he doesn't sign a deal soon he wont celtic wont let him walk away on a free not a chance he has a few good more performances at the World Cup and we could get £6m plus for him and Celtic will sell at that if he wont sign.

 

I think Celtic would be right to sell both. If Celtic can get £11-13m for the 2 combined which I can see happening, although a month ago I thought was laughable, it would be worth it. Invest in a new defender, however I'm scared they won't. I think the club would be willing to but I think Rodgers will risk it.

Problem is, there are a lot of teams interested in Schär. In case we can't sign him, I'd go after Lindsay. I mean, Barnsley got relegated. Chances are that he 'll be available for the right price.

(Lustig can play as a centre-half as well)
