For Dortmund, aye. The fact is he didn’t influence a better team than Broony plays
/played in as far in the premier European competition as Scott Brown has.

    That’s a fact mate.

Craig Gordon is a good Goalkeeper.

KT has a lot of learning to do if he's going to be a real top full back, mainly with his use of the ball.

Dembele is overrated, has the ability but has major improvements to make in his overall play

James Forrest is a better all round player than Paddy Roberts (I know, Paddy is young and better than Forrest at the same age)

Izaguirre's first season is the best we've had at left back in my lifetime, KT will surpass it I'm sure but I'm yet be convinced he's better than Izzy's first season.

    I feel dirty.

You already know this, but i dont like BR, at least dont like him as much as you do. I obviously dont want him to be sacked, I don't think he is a bad coach, but this brand of possession football is the opposite of what I like, it's really boring to watch and if while you are in an unbeaten run this can be excused, the last 6 months have been as awful to watch as Deila in the worst days. A quite large number of the signings have been awful or kind of unambitious. What he does to Gamboa is ridiculous and is harming the team, as in several instances he did something unreasonable just to keep him from playing (Ralston against PSG, Hendry as RB, Lustig in a horrible form, 3 at the back, anything but playing Gamboa). Expelling Eric from the squad after he was in a large part of the unbeaten run while having endless patience with Boyata is questionable. Bringing Sinclair on a sub at every match is questionable. He absolutely refuses to deal with our defensive problems, and is never, never discontent with the team even when they lose to Gibraltar part timers or 7-0.

Finally, he taking the side of the board when they launched a war against the GB was needless, as he could jusr stay quiet or say evasive common sense, unless he actually shares Lawwells opinion that our fans and our background are a liability. And already antecipating some of the pelters, we live in an age of unparalleled economic inequality in football. This is remembered when we lose to Psg and Bayern, but the unbeaten run and the double treble do need to be put into context, as the scottish football is so low nowadays that even a ill managed eternally in crisis Sevco can fight lively for the second place every year.

I’m not glossing over it at all mate, it was immense but it wasn’t for us. I love lambert mate, one of my favourite ever players, just putting Broony’s achievements with us in context. Last ten years have been far from poor in Europe.

Maybe he could have done with more support, and don’t get me wrong as the @The GOAT says it is all relative as Qualification is an achievement now.. given the financial doping of the modern game..

I wouldn’t swap him and love him as a player.. but last 10yrs have been pretty uninspiring in Europe, in general for me..

AYe and unfortunately in that time we’ve seen Mowbray and Ronny, who did us no favours in that aspect. Far from uninspiring for me though mate.

And two performances from Broony in particular (both against Benfica) have been some highlights for me.

Aye the 3-0 dismantling of Benfica was probably WGS team most complete performance.. Kenny Miller was devastating on the counter that night..:fear:

I’m a massive fan of Izzy but much of his first season, defensive wise, Joe Ledley covered heroically. Attacking wise, KT sets up a lot more than he does (assist stat wise anyway). Loved wee Izzy but KT has him beat hands down for me and he himself is still a work in progress.

Although I agree Ledley was excellent at back tracking, I actually think Izaguirres individual defensive performance that season was outstanding. Barely anyone got past him at all. He was slick on the ball, used it well, dangerous in attack. 2010 Izzy is still to be beaten for me.

Celtic TV is a load of * and the commentary is cringe worthy most of the time.
