First team breakthrough[edit]
After beginning the 2012–13 season on the bench,[13] Odubajo made his first appearance of the campaign in a 1–0 defeat to Stevenage on 21 August, coming on as a 62nd-minute substitute for Jimmy Smith.[14] Featuring mainly as a right back,[3] he made regular substitute appearances and sporadic starts through the opening months of the season and finally broke into the starting lineup after scoring his first goal of the season with the only goal of the game in a Football League Trophy second round win over Barnet on 9 October.[15] After the game Odubajo said "to score was an unbelievable feeling, my first 90 minutes of the season and my first goal, I couldn't have asked for any more".[16]

Increasingly used as a right winger,[3] he scored his second goal of the season in a 3–2 victory over Portsmouth on 20 November[17] and scored a late winner over Walsall in a 2–1 victory on 29 December.[18] His form began to attract interest from higher up the pyramid, with Premier League sides Norwich City, Southampton, Wigan Athletic and Championshipsides Ipswich Town, Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion sending scouts to watch him.[19]

Scottish Premier League side Celtic were also reportedly interested in his services.[20]

Moses Odubajo will leave Hull City on a free transfer this summer after becoming the latest out-of-contract player to reject a new deal at the KCOM Stadium.

Odubajo was offered a contract extension by the Tigers last month but head coach Nigel Adkins has confirmed the defender will join an alarming exodus.

Allan McGregor, Michael Dawson, Seb Larsson and Abel Hernandez have all previously snubbed contract offers to leave Adkins with a badly depleted squad ahead of pre-season training getting underway in 11 days.

Odubajo leaves City having not played a competitive fixture since the 2016 Championship play-off final after suffering three serious knee injuries.

The right-back had returned to fitness late last season to warrant the offer of a contract extension but he will now seek a fresh challenge away from East Yorkshire.

“We’ve offered him a contract to stay but he doesn’t want to stay,” Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside.

“Moses hasn’t accepted the contract that we have offered. He’s out of contract, we’ve offered him one and he’s obviously going to try and find (a future) somewhere else.

“He hasn’t played for two years so it will be a challenge for him but we wish him well.”

As previously reported by the Mail, former boss Steve Bruce has shown an interest in bringing Odubajo to Aston Villa.

Odubajo cost City £3.5m when signing from Brentford in 2015 and made a total of 54 appearances in a debut season that ended with promotion to the Premier League.

Will be good in a 3-5-2..

Think positionally he can be done but has the strength, pace and stamina to cope..

At a free it would be good business. We're crying out for speed and attacking play like KT does on the left..

Will give us a new dimension that team's would have to suss out as most goes down the left..

Is he any good defensively? A good Gamboa replacement but I don’t want the same situation happening next season where we just revert back to Lustig

Let’s be honest he had his moments last season Aberdeen away mainly but how much would a first choice 31 year old international right back cost with the experience of Lustig? I will hazard a guess £8m upwards! Yes his legs have lost a bit of pace but as for experienced players and ability he is a valuable asset. Too many people too quick to right him off he will be first choice right back (fitness permitting) again this season for a vast majority of the matches. People getting excited about replacing him with a guy who hasn’t kicked a ball in 2 years that’s pish imo

 

If Liverpool don't go for Cho Hyun-woo for some reason, we should try. Chances are slim, though.
