If he was good enough he would have stayed at Celtic after his injury recovery, instead we were playing a CB in that position when Lustig was out. I know the boy was thrown in at the deep end to start with and might still turn it round. But I just don’t see it being here.

 

Bit of a random question, but whats Tony's preference between Turkey Dinosaurs and Alphabetti Spaghetti? I think if the club gets him on a more sensible diet which includes one of those two things we will see a vast improvement in his performances.

Aye very true mate, and it took for Ronny to be here for Rogic Tierney and McGregor to get their chance which is paying off now. It’s funny how things work out sometimes.

 

19 years old and apparently his Celtic career is finished because he struggled against players who have made senior appearances for Arsenal.

 

Don't you know that if our players aren't better than EVERY single player they play against they aren't Celtic class?

We might just have to adjust our expectations. He at least looks like a fullback, unlike Miller.

 

The guy got through the academy system on his sheer size and strength alone. Was fit to impose himself physically on any player underage.

As we've seen, he can no longer do the same at * level, be that at Celtic or Dundee. Technically not good enough (yet?) which often results in highlighting his lack of pace for a full back.

The fact that he was shown up last night by a guy the same age as him, who has progressed into the senior game, is a reflection of all of the above. I seriously doubt Ralston ever struggled like last night at u14 or u15 level where he was much more physically developed than his peers.

 

He's played 18 minutes of premier league football lets not get carried away here The only real positive we have seen so far in Ralston is his strength and I tend to agree with Bobo in saying that it was down to his physical attributes that he stood out at youth level. Although time is on his hands and he has the next 2-3 years to transition to the level that we need him at. The lads at one of the biggest football clubs so it's understandable that people are going to have high expectations of him. I'm guessing the constant spotlight on him is due to the fact that he signed a new 4 year deal which is unusual considering the amount of youth players we let go, so he must be doing something right behind the scenes.

He's got talent and is gaining experience. Let's see where that takes him and what he's prepared to put into getting to a point where he is or isn't first choice in his position.

He’a young and a lot to learn, send him on loan for a full season at an SPL club rather than championship. St.Mirren would be good choice since Stubbs is going there.

This. we severly lack at RB especially compared to LB and we only have 1 LB! we need to invest in that area and start fazing lustic into just a backup LB. Ralston is nowhere near ready to take over for lustig. In my opinion we need to break our transfer record for a RB on at least tierneys level perfomance wise, that would be a massive statement of intent
