Does anyone know the dates of the subsequent qualifying and play off round?

Gotta wonder if the increased CL Group Stage prize money will provide Lawell that added incentive to get the cheque book out for Rodgers

Hopefully he does, seeded in every round i think too but some tricky outfits and we need to be calm in defense in these ties ,keep posession while showing our attacking prowess..big kolo helped us a bit i have every confidence in Brendan getting us through for 3rd season in a row though these ties are also about who holds their nerve.

Can’t * wait till the 10th/11th July when the qualifiers start. Normally get so nervous during the qualifiers, but this year I’m just going to enjoy them. The clubs earned huge amounts of money for qualifiying the past 2 seasons, so the way i see it is, if we don’t qualify this year it’s not the end of the world, the club is in a brilliant place financially anyway and currently miles ahead financially than any club in Scotland.

Yes obvcourse it will be fantastic if we do manage to qualify again, and bring in another £40m or so. But if we get knocked out I’m not going to get so down about it like in previous seasons, when we lost out to malmo and Maribor. As long as we secure Europa league football this season ill be happy.

While they are not easy teams, they are teams we should be able to beat. I would put them at a level similar to Rosenborg but not as good as Astana. Although Legia Warsaw was worse, we were lucky to go through (only won because the daft * put on an ineligible player in injury time).

Qualifying this year would ensure that we not only do the 10, but as many as we like as we will be out of sight for good, in this humble fenians opinion.

I'm worried about these qualifiers 8 games on consecutive weeks after playing only 2 preseason games

If we qualified for the groups and got say the 50m... That would be immense we already have what in excess of 35m in reserve? Do you think this could be the start of a new wage structure that could take us to the next level? We could get a lot of real quality players in the door for between 5-10mil but with a lot of players even available cheaper wages is an issue. Say we higher education the average wage to around 35-40k and the high earners to around 60k we could attract real class players without leaving ourselves short and with that calibre of player coming in domination of the league would be always ensured and almost guaranteed group stages and possible past 16 every year.. I know it's not really the way our policy is but I think that type of move could be what we need to push us back up on the European scale

Many of the other teams will have the same problems. However many of our players have been playing with each other for long enough to know enough to get straight back into it. I would start to worry when we know our draw.
Hope the 2nd round we don't get someone like Red Star, Be'er Sheeva or Midtjylland. 3rd round will be tough as can be with Athens and Dinamo Zagreb as non seeded teams.

A lot of the teams we will face have already started there season that's were my concern is, we are seeded all through the qualifiers so should avoid some of the stronger leagues, agree have a settled team but we will be still getting back to fitness, these games really matter to the opposition as well as us and some will go all out

I don't think the added income will make us more competitive in the group stage and beyond, seeing as all the opposition at that level will gain the same if not larger financial boost from UEFA.

I mean in the future if we increase the wage structure and spend a little higher on a better calibre player we could impact Europe more. I think investment like that would be ideal for improvement like. Because if we make it to the groups this year we will be doing great financially. No excuse not to see that money invested

Won't happen though, we'd be daft to gamble on non guarenteed income, would only leave us * at some point.

Probably won't but if we get into the groups again this upcoming season then that money is guarenteed

Having to play a couple of wee teams early on might actually work out ok as it will get players up to pace quicker than playing a bunch of friendlies only to be thrown in to competitive football against a good side. Doesnt mean the set up is anything but ridiculous, but it might get the team to match fitness quicker

Lets hope its a couple we teams. As it stands we can actually draw some class teams after our first qaulifier that usually wait until the final round.

In what respect? It’s always tough, playing two extra competitive fixture may be a bonus..
