As has already been stated, mcgeouch has been the man for them... not mcginn.

If he didnt have a celtic connection this would have fizzled out LAST year.

 

I think any young SPL player that scores against us and generally plays really well against us will automatically get talked about in signing for us. Then add a Celtic connection.

It's no surprise that McGinn has been linked with us, we should have signed him when he played for St Mirren then loaned him out and seen what happens. He probably won't get into our team right now, we need to start thinking about a new CM though. Broony won't play forever unfortunately.

Makes sense to get a guy in who can learn from him while he is still at the top, whether it's McGinn or somebody else.

 

Would we have a massive McGeouch thread if he wasn't an ex-celt deemed not good enough? Probably...

Nothing against McGinn, if we sign him fine, good luck to him, I just think we've stepped up a notch with player recruitment.

To be fair it’s the media that seem obsessed with wanting us to sign him because of his Granda. He’s the media’s golden boy so it’s no real surprise.

I still don’t think we’re really interested and the story about the Huns wanting him, then him in a BT interview refusing to rule out signing for them, is being done by his agents hoping we’ll get worried and make a move.

Rodgers has shown with Morgan and Hendry that if he wants a player he’ll go for them and get it tied up as early as possible.

Brendan had spoken about liking them repeatedly and was a poorly kept secret..

I think Brendan has publicly said he isn't all that to be fair. Unless he's spoken in glowing terms since..

Hendry was invited to Parkhead around about November. Rodgers spoke about Hendry and Morgan as soon as it came out we were interested.

Morgan in particular said because Ross is pals with Rodgers he’d been allowed to talk to him while the media were still linking Morgan down south.

 

Aye and then we signed Hendry towards the end of the January transfer window? Wasn’t really a quick process at all

 

I’d say signing a player in January when Rodgers hadn’t even heard of him until he lined up against us on 20th September is a quick process.

Each to their own.

 

I would say the likes of Comper and Ntcham were, Hendry rumbled on for a good while.
