I think the diplomatic way to name change is to keep the original in the new title. Means the fans can still call it the original name. Just last week Dundee changed their stadium name to "Kilmac Stadium at Dens Park" for that reason.

A lot will depend on the brand as well. "NB Celtic Park" sounds ok. "Dafabet Celtic Park" sounds a bit *. But either way it will still be Celtic Park or Parkhead.

Will attract weans though who will enjoy it and want to come back. When I seen it in Bayern I thought it was superb and did think "we never get quality like this in our League" but now we will, although who knows if it will be as good.

Tbf that will never happen, unless the old main stand is torn down and rebuilt..

The main stand infrastructure isn’t good enough, yes it’s been revamped but we’re limited by the old design.. the dressing rooms, tunnel, media area & entrance for the teams via coach with their kit etc is inadequate to host a major final.. kit has to be wheeled up a ramp and pushed in the main entrance as it stands..

Nah rumour is that is why Pedro was in the middle East. Will be something more exotic.

Easy fixes, the old rules no longer apply regarding star ratings.

I don’t think they are easy fixes, the old main stand just doesn’t have what’s required.. we have to have a separate media area in tents on CL nights..

Hope I’m wrong, but just don’t see it..

Agree in theory, but you know the real world is not like that. Highbury, main road,Upton park, white hart lane,etc....yes it will still be parkhead or cp to us, but it could also be * knows what for the right price.

I've wondered for a long time how long it would take us to jump on the selling stadium naming rights bandwagon. Quite surprised it's taken as long as this actually. All for it as long as it's tastefully done and brings in the revenue re-naming Celtic Park deserves.

    Wunderbar.

We canny even get teams in our league to cut the grass.

Nae chance getting them to shell out for big belter light systems.

Like what? Are we really gonna usurp Hampden in the Ed Sheeran and Beyonce stakes purely due to 12 new lights? We already hosted the commonwealth games, realistically nothing bigger than that is coming due to these minor improvements.

New lights won't do anything to aid our chances of that. Entirely new dressing rooms, far more corporate facilities, a dedicated internal media mixed zone (i.e. not a tent in the car park) and separate entrances for team coaches will be the only things to see a Champions League final at Parkhead.

I appreciate it will look a bit better but I'm doubting it will genuinely bring in new fans. Are there really any Celtic fans, even kids, who were sat at home on matchdays watching a dodgy stream thinking "i'd go if only there were 6 big lights on top of each opposing roof..."
    Come on.

The museum, hotel and new ticket office is genuine progress. I'm not convinced a rumoured 2.5 million on lighting is throwing good money around but * it, we're cash rich.

All this talk about bright lights is ironically making you look a bit dim...
