    When you are winning trophies/titles bad recruitment isn't under the microscope the same way it would be if the team was struggling, but that dosen't excuse the fact that there has been some really poor signings.


    Every summer we hope for some real quality, hopefully that will be the case, i'll believe it when i see it. :84:

    Massive exaggeration. On the scale of recruitment it barely registers as even bad at this point. Next season will determine that.

    If we’d spent 5 million on him aye but we didn’t.

    It's not an exaggeration at all.

    For 2 of our main signings in January to now potentially not be here 6 months later, one almost definitely, is bad recruitment. Regardless of how much we paid.

    Feels like a waste of time.

    I think it's poor as well, especially as it looks like neither was physically ready. Musonda far too lightweight and Compper it's hard to say if it's getting injured once he signed or if he was already in bad condition but the one game we seen him he looked like couldn't or didn't even want to break into a jog, was like watching someone who really didn't want to be on the park.

    Exactly. Surely we should have been aware of this? The point about Musonda especially is annoying as we are led to believe Rodgers chased him from the moment he arrived. 18 months later we suddenly realise nah he won't cut it?

    Nah I just remember reading about some of the signings at Sunderland when Congerton was there, that turned out to be flops.

    Aye I've read that at both Hamburg and particularly Sunderland, his signings or hand in them were dreadful..

    I may be wrong but I'm sure I read that about Coutinho and 1 or 2 other quality player's in the past that turned out star's..

    From the get go, Compper was ineligible to play in the EL for us...but we thought fair enough, he'll improve our defence domestically and then into next season. He has played 1 game domestically, and never been seen again.

    Musonda...by all accounts Rodgers was after him for a long time so the fact he's barely featured and now looks to be going back to Chelsea...it's been a disaster. Not least after all the hype around him generated by the club itself.
