If Boruc goes, Celtic will not spend all that money, No way. Strachan will be asked to go out abd buy a cheaper replacement. Someone like Schwarzer or Jussi (canny spell his name, GK fae Bolton).

Or someone we have never heard off before, like Boruc before he came to Celtic.

BTW, why is everyone so convinced Boruc is leaving? Do people think he is too good for us or something? He is contracted till 2011 and he has said so many times he loves this club and wants to stay.

If you lok at it, they have a solid spine to their team, Mcgregor, Cuellar( i hate to say it but he is the best defender in the SPL in years I think), Ferguson, Steve davis( who they will sign), thompson. whereas we need to invest heavily in our defence and might have to find a new keeper in the summer

I think we will spend more IF Boruc goes. If not then they may spend more. We need to spend money on two top quality full backs as I don't think Hinkel is the answer and Naylor's form isn't what it once was.

But they are still lackign in that team. They players to play around that spine. I agree they have a solid base to work from but i still think they need betetr players to make the sqaud better. And am sure Walter Smith thinks that too. They need a bigger squad. This season has taught them that.

yes i suppose, but you have to think, what board is more likely to invest in the team?
if the celtic board has sense, then at the beginning of the season they would have spent big and rangers would never recover, we were so far out infornt of them in every area, but the board's lack of ambition will cot us dear i believe.

he's also said that he would like to move to a bigger club and that he signed the contract so Celtic could get a decent transfer fee for him when he does go.

Dida and Kalic are off at the end of the season and Milan are on the look out for a keeper and their president said at the weekend that he is not put off by Boruc's price tag. Bayern Munich are losing their old man in goal as well.

i have been saying it since the start of the season, Boruc is doing the off. if not this summer, deffinately next.

Well right now Celtic have the better squad. Qe don't need lots of new players joining. Why have loads of good players just sitting on the bench each week? That causes problems with player moaning then fights in the dressing room etc etc i could go on.

the reason he signed the contract was similar to petrov's. HE loved the club and knew that if he extended his contract this would guarantee that celtic would get mega bucks for him

i honestly think we only need 5 players in the summer (6 if Bourc goes)
two strikers (excluding Samaras), centre mid, centre back and a left back. (6th is obviously a keeper).

we don't need to get rid of M.Brown as he will never get a game unless our 1st choice is injured. these 5 players need to be players that can either walk into our team or threaten our starting XI places every week. no more Killen purchases please!!!!!!!!

If Boruc goes which i hope he doesn't, i'd love us to sign Stipe Pletikosa ( the Spartak Moscow goalie) that played against us in the 3rd round qualifier last year for the CL. Although I think he's pretty well known and I dont know how much he would cost... I want us to buy a left back and a couple centre backs to square up our defense .. I also would like to see a winger come in aswell as a holding midfielder ( fingers crossed for the big croatian boy ). And i'd like a proven goal scorer! :50::50:

I reckon we will be offloading a few players this summer aswell so hopefully the money for that goes on transfers aswell.

I agree with this but i think they have got it right in the crucial areas. I think we need 3 defenders. I don't believe that McManus is good enough to make the first team never mind be our captain. Caldwell has played well recently but he is too much of a liability and you don't know when the mistake is going to come next. Naylor has been a different player this year, if he picks it up next season I would play him but I really believe he needs some competition. Even Hinkel is still to convince me that he has what it takes. And i think we need a quality striker to link up with Mcdonald as i believe that JVOH is not good enough. too injury prone, lacks any agility, positioning is fairly poor in and around the box and doesn't win enough headers in the box. You's may think I am a little harsh but I have watched celtic all this season and this is the way i see it

"mcdonald hasn't proven anything at a real high level yet."

"the board's lack of ambition will cot us dear i believe."

"in the paper it said rangers were making 25 m this season through european football "

"I agree with this but i think rangers have got it right in the crucial areas."

"iF you lok at it, they have a solid spine to their team, Mcgregor, Cuellar( i hate to say it but he is the best defender in the SPL in years I think), Ferguson, Steve davis( who they will sign), thompson. whereas we need to invest heavily in our defence and might have to find a new keeper in the summer"

"it is about time we got a top quality player"

"We need to spend more, but i believe the huns will as they have made as much money as us if not more and their board are more willing to spend than ours as we have no ambition"

"JVOH is not good enough. too injury prone, lacks any agility, positioning is fairly poor in and around the box and doesn't win enough headers in the box."

if your a season ticket holder, you'd know where your money is going.

look at that green patch in the middle of the CP. they should be out there on a match day.

depends who wins the league and picks up the automatic CL place. That will dictate the answer. If Rangers won it, it would even things up a bit in the short term and we could have problems but if we won then we would financially be well ahead of them and I could see the next 4 or more titles coming our way in a period of major finacial ascendancy. I think a lot more than the immediate bragging rights are at stake. I think the shape of the next 4 or so years will turn on who wins on Thursday.
