He is stalling his career, not us. An assist against Zenit aside, what has he done in a Celtic jersey?

If Rodgers explanation isn’t enough for some I don’t know what is.

He hasn’t settled entirely well and the team are winning. That’s it.

Not a disaster the form of Rogic and Forrest has kept him out the team and McGregor has came onto a right good game so it’s just players have been playing better and consistent!

Absolutely. That is a rational and perfectly reasonable explanation. Why does there always have to be some sinister, ulterior motive?

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we cut the loan short ourselves.

I don't think his loan has been a disaster he's just been kept out the team by better players atm. Do agree we shouldn't make a big song and dance about loan signings, we announced paddy as if we signed him on a 4 year deal bit of a ridneck.

The guy is taking a bit more time to settle than firstly anticipated. It was clear in the first few games that he played for us that he was struggling with the physicality of the Scottish game, and that is probably emphasised by his most positive moment coming in the European game against Zenit where it is more about playing football although ironically enough, Zenit were quite a physical team but he managed to find some space against them and played a nice pass to wee Forrest.

And, it takes time to get prepared for that physicality and I'm sure that's what's being worked on with him so that he can make an impact next season. He probably won't be used to coming up against such packed defences, and every time that he gets the ball that there will be two or three opposition players hunting him down as if there lives depended on it. He will have experienced that somewhat in his career because he is a flair player but not as intense as it is up here, as it's not easy being a technical, creative, flair player playing for Celtic because you are expected to deliver constantly and that's the challenge he'll need to overcome to make an impact up here.

Look at Nakamura, he had his critics throughout his Celtic career for going missing in games but he almost always made an impact in most games he played. Nakamura wasn't a physical player but he found a way to make an impact on the game for us, and that's something wee Musonda will need to do if he's going to get games for us next season.

You can have all the talent in the world but if the physicality overwhelms you then you'll struggle to make an impact on games, and that talent will never reach it's full potential. That's the biggest problem I see with Musonda anyway, and that's the good thing about loans as if the player can make the step up then we aren't lumbered with them.

What do I know though, I'm probably talking pish.

that would make sense if the contract didn't have a clause in it where it states Chelsea can recall him whenever they want, like rodgers said. Also if he isn't on the first team bench, why isn't he being put into the development squad for game time? we have basically paid him quite a bit of money for a backheel against hearts, assist against Zenit and a holiday to Dubai and Tenerife for the 4 months he's been here.

It may well be part of why hes not playing but its ridiculous how much some are overstating the physicality thing.

It's understandable people are annoyed about it. We were all excited about signing one of Chelsea's top youngsters, because we recognised we needed more quality. particularly after that Anderlecht game. We thought Musonda would bring it, but it doesn't look like it's happening.

He's 21? Geez, I thought he was 19 or something. To have not even broken in to the Chelsea first team, more than he had is a bit of an opener.
Also had put this first 6 months down to bedding in and the form of Forrest. I have him pegged as the rotation to Forrest for next season and seeing more game time. With Sinclair and Morgan on the left. So not too fussed he hasn't appeared much.

If the rumoured fee (2.5mill?) is true, then I would dare say that if Chelsea do haul him back 1/3rd of the way in to the deal, there will be a compensation coming back to us. Pistol Pete aint no mug and wouldn't allow Chelsea to get 2.5million off us, then allow them to take him back at any time.

What would be to stop them draggin him back after 1 week and pocketing the 2.5mill? Not that they need it of course, but the point surely would stand.

If we paid a £2.5m loan fee for him, we are off our rockers - whether he has a fantastic season next season or not.

Always thought he was brought in with the view Roberts would be off in the summer and he would be taking his place, Roberts hardly featured in the first 6 months when he came

No chance it would have been £2.5m and if they recall him there will no doubt be a clause in it financial wise law well isn’t daft totally agree with you

The 2.5 just stood out in my mind at the time of typing, I'd honestly be surprised if it was that. Wasn't the Paddy deal only £1mill?
