[No Link] Abel Hernández

Discussion in 'Transfer Rumours' started by Jeremie Frimpong, Apr 11, 2018.

  1. Don't want him. Far too many problems with injuries. Way too expensive for a backup/3rd choice striker (assuming we sign Edouard).

We have the money, don't freak out lol, it's not even a small dent in our finances. No more thinking small-scale all the time, have to spend to be a player these days.

  2. Far too overkill, All 3 will want to start

I'd like us to sign both, look at the injuries we've had this season we need 3 solid strikers

I have to agree, 3 strikers seems to be the need. At the start of the season we had to play Rogic and Forrest as the loan striker due to injuries. You cannot cope with just 2. However if we can get another striker on loan rather than give Hernandez 40-50k a week then that would be the better option. Clubs like PSG, Chelsea and Man City all have great youth systems that we can take from.

If he is better than we have then get him. No questions. Its up to the other 2 to step up if they want to play. Thats how we improve.

It's a fair point, Griff, Edouard and Moussa have all had to fight for their place as the club does not rely on any of them for goals. This is a great thing, when they get their chance they try to prove and they know if they are suspended or injured they don't just walk in the team.

All 3 want to start just now. Griff has injury problems, Hernandez has had a few long spells out as well. Competition is only good for the squad and the players.

Exactly, though I'd rather have Hernandez on a free than another loan, the wages of the youth players are probably on a par with the championship, but if we sign him we have potential to sell.

I see your point about not wanting another loan but the advantage of a loan is you can send them back if they get injured. If he can stay injury free he would score goals for fun in the SP. I do have a problem if he wants too much money also. If Celtic start paying loads of players over 30k many of the others will want.

People are saying other clubs want him but many of them are Championship clubs and I think he wants out of that league.

  12. No different to what we have now in Dembele, Griff and Eddie.

I don't know, I can understand the point of the loan and injury, but I'd hope we're signing a player not expecting them to be injured.

I think we have more of a pull than the championship or hope we do and I'm quite sure we must be around the the same mark in terms of wages (minus newly relegated clubs).

I think part of me just wants him based on the few times I've seen him and thought he was brilliant.

  14. If he is coming here it will be similar to moussa ,good wage no fee ,and the promise to let them move on to english premiership with the right club if the chance comes, and the price is met.

  15. according to english media weve already offered a 3 year deal

Wolves willing to offer him 2.5m a year contract apparently. Roughly what we are giving Rodgers is it not?

I think we will be priced out on this.

  17. Depends what he wants..

28 in a few month's and has never sampled European competition football..

Does he want to go for the money to another English side who won't be competing for anything and will most likely be mid to bottom table, or come and play possible champions league football/Europa and win trophies....whilst still being paid a good wage..

  18. Plus our bonuses for players are massive, weekly wage is only part of what they can earn.

  19. Leeds are after him apparently
