The motherwell team cost £10k to assemble (what they spend on Trevor Carson, the rest of their team are freebies and loanees).

If Rodgers earns a basic salary of c.50k a week (£2.6m a year) then that equates to c.£7,142 a day basic. So yeah, maybe one and a half days, or probably 1 day if you include any bonuses, sign ons, share plans, etc.

Brendan Rodgers does not earn 50k a week and even if he did, 7 times the cost of Trevor Carson does not equal 50 grand. Crank.

Can’t believe this is even a thing, away and gie yer heid peace.

£45k a week when he first arrived, probably bumped up when he signed the extension.

Yes, they have only spent money on one player and it was 10 grand.

Are there no signing-on fees, salaries or bonuses at Motherwell, no?

Undisclosed doesn’t mean free, signing on fees aren’t free.

Players not under contract still cost money. There's not a chance Motherwell built their current squad for ten grand.

Cowdenbeath probably spent more than ten grand on their squad, nevermind a team in the premier division.

can't believe motherwell spent more on trevor carson than we did on forest, mcgregor and tierney combined! :84:

but aye transfer fees dont tell you the wheole story,I think you're point could have been better made by saying the average yearly salary of a motherwell player is comparably to brendan's weekly pay

Certainly wouldn't be out of the ordinary, as most SPL clubs sign players on free or loans.

From what I can see, since 2010, Motherwell have paid a transfer fees (not including loans) on 4 players. Steve Howarth (Now at Albion Rovers), Carson, Moult (gone), Rohan Ferguson (A youth, I assume, doesn't even have a wiki) and Petravičius.

If Carson legit cost 10k, then the total transfer fees of their squad probably isn't that far off that. Obviously this doesn't account all the other fees involved, strictly transfer fees.

You have to pay compensation for players under the age of 23 years old, as well, regardless of whether they are out of contract or not.

BR: "Our basic rules today were very simple – to attack with real aggression and intensity, try and recover the ball as we quickly as we could whenever we lost it."

BR: "I don’t think I could have asked any more of the players. They were absolutely brilliant and I’m really proud."

BR on @Oedouard22: "He’s a brilliant player. He has everything, and I mean everything – pace, power, you see his strength, his ability with the ball at his feet, he has a natural brain for football, he comes into the space, he can play off the side."

BR: "To go into this season with very little break and go and perform like we’ve done in a quite a number of games under pressure, we’ve done very, very well."

BR: "The players can enjoy this day, but we’ve got a league campaign to finish and then a cup final that we’re really looking forward to."
