Yep. In fact 4 times out of the last 10 seasons the Champions have failed to beat that total.

No it was me that said you can make the figures suit any agenda.
They don't want him to manage them 10 years ago ffs.

Are they spending more now than Sunderland Net?
Are they a far bigger club than Sunderland?

Why are they being compared to Sunderland?

You’re probably right, just hope he’s more in the mood than he was today

His weakness if he has one is definitely his judgment of central defenders. His hardon for Boyata is bewildering to say the least.

How he can name Simunovic on the subs bench behind him is amazing unless there’s something else going on behind the scenes.

If he’s inisistent on playing a back 3 which I personally don’t really like, then Simunovic Ajer Sviatchenko would have been ideal in my opinion.

Lustig is finished, Boyata is a bombscare, Commper is a myth, and Hendry has potential but not ready to to start every week yet.

Going for an historic double treble and it's not good enough for you? Football is not won on paper and the trophy haul we have will suggest dominance.

As for your points total, that's pish as well.but can see you've realised that.

Can't agree more on the 3-at-the-back. I think we only play it because we don't have a right back with working legs but it's still way too defensive than we need to be.

Jamming 6 players into the midfield and only having one striker is a weird choice too imo.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has held talks with Scotland manager Alex McLeish during the week over the availability of his players for the national side’s summer tour of South America.

Scotland will take on Peru in Lima on May 29, before travelling to play Mexico in Mexico City on June 2, and Rodgers has concerns about some of his players joining up with the squad after a gruelling season that began last July.

But while Rodgers has expressed those concerns to McLeish, he admitted that a consensus between the two managers’ positions was still a little way off.

“I had a good chat with Alex [on Wednesday],” said Rodgers. “I was open with my preference in terms of where it sits and where it’s at, but you understand that it’s also the careers of players as well. But we’ll find a solution that will be balanced.

“There are some of the guys that will want the games, because they will maybe have missed chunks of the season, but there will be other boys who have played lots of games since last June that won’t need them.

“It would be beneficial from both Celtic and Scotland if they have the breather, because very quickly they will be back into it again and then they are going to be needed in the proper games coming into the autumn.

“It’s always the case that if you have a few of your teams doing well, then hopefully that can help the national team.

“What I love about the Scottish boys is that they are very patriotic. They actually love playing for Scotland, and I think there is a real core of players there that can do very, very well.

“It gives me great pride to see he boys from here going and taking that energy and that intensity into playing for the national team, it’s great to see.”

Rodgers was meanwhile fulsome in his praise for the standard of the Scottish Premiership this season, singling out the likes of Kilmarnock, Hibernian and Motherwell for helping to raise the quality of the league competition.

But while he concedes it has been tougher on the domestic front, he isn’t sure that will stand them in any greater stead when European competition rolls around again.

“Having a greater domestic challenge, I’m not sure helps us against PSG,” he said. “The competition is good, of course, but it’s such a difference when you jump from domestic into that level. It’s a huge jump for us, but one we have to find a way, like any Scottish club in Europe, to do the best we can.”

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that it would take “something extraordinary” for him to leave the Parkhead side.

Rodgers has been linked with the soon-to-be-vacant Arsenal post following the news on Friday morning that Arsene Wenger’s 22-year-old association with the London club will come to a conclusion at the end of the season.

Celtic insiders are believed to be relaxed about the interest in the 45-year-old and Rodgers himself is in no rush to court further speculation.

Rodgers accepted that if there was concrete interest from Arsenal he would be willing to talk – but insisted that his focus remains on Celtic.

“I would always speak to the board,” he said. “It will take something extraordinary to take me away from here. I signed last summer, I came in on a year’s deal.

“The club offered me four years and I was happy to sign that. After this season I have three more years and I will be so happy if I can see that three years out.

“Because I love working here and I love the whole process of developing players, winning games and seeing the club progress.

“With this job, I’ve a lot to do here.”

Celtic’s majority shareholder, Dermot Desmond, was unperturbed by the interest when interviewed on the possibility of Rodgers returning south of the border.

“I’ve got a great relationship since I met Dermot,” said Rodgers. “Him and the board have got a really high level on intellect, they are clever guys and we speak a lot.

“It’s very open, very honest and that’s how it should be.

“I’ve always said that I’m living my dream here like they all do and I’ll go back into the real world again. I am obviously privileged to be here as the manager of Celtic.

“This is a huge club with big demands and I want to help the club grow and develop. In order to do that it’s about happiness.

“There will be somewhere I can go and maybe earn two or three times more money than where I am now but it’s not about that.

I’ve worked through for 10 years as a young coach and still relatively young as a manager at 45. I am happy in my professional life and really content outside of that as well.”

I find his use of players baffling to say the least:

Paddy Roberts: Returns from injury & raring to go. Chances are, we’re not going to have him after this year yet he refuses to give him sufficient game time.

3-0 up against Greenock Morton & he doesn’t come off the bench.
Unused sub at Ibrox 3-2 game.
Brought on with 20 mins to go Vs Motherwell away.
Brought on with 20 mins to go Vs Ross County.
Unused sub in the 0-0 game at home against Dundee. Game was screaming out for him.
    Started the game against Hamilton.
Brought on with 20 mins to go against the Huns last week.
Brought on with 20 mins to go against Hibs today. Should’ve been on much sooner.

1 start in 8 is mental for a player of his quality, albeit he’s just returned from injury. 20 minutes here & there is just *.

    Charly Musonda:
The whole thing is just strange. So much hype over the boy. Chelsea fans were furious that he was allowed to leave & we thought we were getting a superstar.
Comes on against Zenit, changes the game & is never to be seen again.

From the games mentioned above, he could’ve came on against the likes of Motherwell, Dundee, Ross County, Huns (No even on the bench at Hampden) & we could’ve done with his skill against Hibs.

I know folk are saying we’re keeping him for next season etc, but what’s the point in an 18 month loan to only use him for 12 months of that?

    Compper:
    *?

    Scott Bain:
Comes in against the Huns & plays a blinder. Doesn’t put a foot wrong. First class distribution (which Rodgers wants from a keeper), yet turns to Craig Gordon as soon as he’s fit. * kicking is woeful as we saw against Hibs.

    Boyata:
Everybody can see he’s a bombscare, yet he continues to stand by him. He was wrong to fling him in against the Huns (3-2 game) after a lengthy injury & he almost cost us the game on several occasions. Should be dropped, but Rodgers refuses to do so.

    Sinclair:
Been utter horse * for the majority of the season, yet Rodgers turns to him before Sinclair/Musonda on every occasion.

Don’t get me wrong, I * love the guy & would love him to be my Da, but sometimes cannot for the life of me understand some of his decisions.

Can't really argue with any of that. Lustig has also kept his place after some awful performances.

Beginning to think Brendan’s honeymoon period is over & now we’re getting back to where we were couple of seasons ago.
We hit a purple patch under Ronny as well that was short lived & we seem to have been sleepwalking into the same shambles again. I’m disgusted with myself for not seeing it.

I think a lot of our aspirations are because of the media hype & our gullibility.

Possibly, paddy could have been on earlier yesterday.
