Anyone would be daft to take the Arsenal job the now, if they do worse than Wenger which they probably would as they're quite * with barely any decent players then whatever manager it is will become a joke.

If your going to take the Arsenal job it would be much wiser to let some other dafty go in and make all the change risk blundering and then you go in when they're even more in the * and less is expected of you.

:56: if Aubaumayeng, Lacazette, Ramsey, Ozil, Koscielny and Bellerin are *, we're absolutely *.

He's already had Liverpool though which is a bigger gig than Arsenal.

Honestly believe his next step after us will be abroad.

The way I read it is this. Arsenal have been impressed with BR and with what he is doing here. He has come closer to winning the premiership than arsenal have in years. He has all the qualities they are looking for.

    But....

They know they have to get this appointment right and they have to make the fans happy again and get them back to the Emirates. This is why I think they will go for someone else. Someone like Tuchel, Loew or Ancelotti. Arsenal fans don't want BR simply because he is "managing in Scotland"

Add to what BR has already said about never being happier than he is here, living the dream etc.

    He's here for 10 in a row

They are Lacazette, Koscielny and Bellerin especially.

They're not going to get near Spurs, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd or Liverpool.

He literally was out in public and got stopped and asked by a member of the press. My point is that if he hadn’t commented then it would have looked, or at least been made to look, worse.

Brendan is going nowhere. Honestly how far will they go to try and unsettle things at Celtic. Anyone would think that they cant wait to see the back of him here. He's too successful for some folk and whilst he's here Celtic is just going to keep on winning cups.

I'm fairly relaxed regarding the manager and the Arsenal story.
    Confident he'l be staying here.

Seems to be a minority view but yeah I often wonder that when they talk about players/managers getting x amount extra per month.

Anyone who thinks BR will leave CELTIC FC when we are on our way to 10IAR and more, trebles, european football and managing the team he grew up supporting is of their * heads. BR will be going down in history as the man who won so many trebles and won us a uefa cup in the coming years. This is the man that will stand beside Jock stein outside parkhead in years to come. Once we wrap up this treble, i fully expect us to win it again next year. The treble treble! Who'd have ever thought in the dark old days we'd be walking all over scottish football like this with well respectable man from the North of Ireland! HAIL HAIL!! Our day has came!!

BRENDAN Rodgers has insisted that he couldn’t be happier as Celtic manager as his side close in on a seventh successive title. The Hoops only need three points in the first post-split fixture away to Hibernian this Saturday to claim the league crown.

That would put them one win away from sealing a historic double treble under the Irishman, with the Scottish Cup final against Motherwell to come on May 19.

The manager admitted that he couldn’t have wished for his tenure in Paradise to have gone any better so far, highlighting the positive backing he’s received from Dermot Desmond, Peter Lawwell and the Celtic board.

But the Irishman also stressed his desire to keep improving and developing Celtic on and off the pitch, with planning already underway for next season.

“As a supporter of the club, I had to put that aside and, for the length of time I was here, create something that would inspire the supporters and give them as many happy moments as possible,” he said.

“Being a fan and knowing how they support this club and how great the supporters are here, I wanted to try and give them as many highs as I possibly could. That hasn’t changed.

“I had a good feeling when I spoke with Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell at that first meeting and they’ve never shirked from the words they gave me on that day. I’m fortunate that I’m at a club that has that stability and allows me to develop it from a football perspective.

“There’s still a lot of work for me to do and achieve on and off the pitch, but you can only do that if you’re happy, and I couldn’t be happier at this club and the support I get from the board.

“It’s all very aligned and very clear and that allows me to work in confidence and it gives the stability to the team, the staff and everyone, and we can all move forward.

“I couldn’t have wished for it to have gone any better. You always hope you come into a club and can make an impact. What was important for us is that we could start quickly, but that’s all down to the players and their ability to learn and take on board and they’ve been absolutely fantastic.

"I’ve talked about them having this ferocious intent to keep improving and developing and I see that every single day and they can then take that on to the field and try and grasp the opportunities. From that perspective, it’s been a joy to see that and we want to continue that.

“No matter how big your institution is and how great it is, you always have to guard against complacency and that’s something I always say to the players – they need to be allergic to that," continued the manager.

“I’m very much like that myself, looking for the next step to take. Already, we’re thinking of how we can improve for next year - how can we be better in our form, our game, and be better in all aspects. That’s something which is important.”

It's maybe hard for people like us to grasp as we will never earn or come near to that kind of dough.

I've often said if I won IRO £500000 upwards I'd wrap my job without consideration and do the things I enjoy without going overboard.

Still I know some fairly wealthy people and they seem to want more and more.

Must be a funny kinda drug earning ridiculous amounts of money...I guess I'll never be fortunate enough to find out.

I don't think Brendan will leave, and I don't think it's the end of the world if he does.

But our dear chairman, the same billionaire who pockets dozens of millions of UCL money every season and signs at best one 2 million pound player with all of that, to stop short of offering our manager to Arsenal is * ridiculous. This guy is a disgrace.

    Right mate calm down ffs!

Iain Bankier (chairman) hasn’t even spoken about Brendan mate!

Dermot Desmond I think is who you are referring too is majority shareholder, everyone I speak to thinks he played the media well today at no point does he offer Brendan to anyone.

He doesn’t pocket dozens of millions either he takes share dividend which he is legally allowed to take.

If it wasn’t for Dermot Desmond we would never have had Martin O’Neill, Gordon Strachan or Brendan Rodgers! Very unfair comments imo

He doesn’t sign anyone either that’s Lawwell and Rodgers.

Think you are being unfair we have signed Ntcham and Sinclair at over £4m each in last 2 summers and Kouassi for £3m the rest of the finances are needed to run the club or held in the £30m cash reserve for a time when we don’t make the CL groups!

Yes his statue will stand beside Jock Stein. The funny thing about Brendan is that if he got so far as leading us to CL final and success he would still feel humble being placed alongside big Jock! The man reminds me of Tommy Burns in that respect. He feels lucky to have been given this opportunity to lead his boyhood club.
