If anybody watches the last 1 back, McGregor skins Tavernier for pace a few time's..

They'll play 1 of 2 ways. 4-5-1 and sit in with 3 centre mids or 4-2-3-1..

So pretty predictable from them whereas we can go 3 at the back-5-2, or 3-4-2-1, 4-2-3-1 and real depth..

Genuinely don't feel nervous about this. Think we'll turn up and do a job on them..

I'd maybe go 4 at the back as 3 has been leaving us open a bit too much lately..

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see the same starting 11 from the game in March.

I have a feeling Armstrong will start ahead of Ntcham and McGregor will be the deeper one

I agree with you there, I'm confident. I think there's been a bit of laziness on our part recently but they generally step it up for the bigger games and do enough.

If Hendry was an option then 3 at the back would be palatable, without him it's either players out-of-form or square pegs for round holes.

It drives me mad when people continue to say they don't rate McGregor he's a consistent player who doesn't look out of place at CL level.. he can play practically anywhere in the side and still be competent. Excellent in possession, shows for the ball, has a turn of pace & is a goal threat. What more do people want.

Ntcham will love Hampden it's made for his passing range, how often did he deliver onto Forrest's toe in the last game.. Armstrong should be the one to miss out and make an impact from the bench.

I can't remember the game but I'm sure there was one quite recently where everyone was praising his performance and saying how important he can be to the team; and thinking maybe people are starting to properly appreciate him. However then Goldfish syndrome seems to set in. I think you'll just have to accept some folk won't fully appreciate him whatever he does mate and that's just life.

    Can't understand it myself.

The guy has delivered for us time and time again in the big games, Bayern, Zenit, Ajax, Newco etc. and still some people line up to have a go at him.

    It's bizarre.

Think Armstrong will definitely start this ...we have missed his drive from midfield.
Seems to be far too many options to choose from, good thing / bad thing! :39:

Mid three of ntcham, brown, McGregor.
But knowing Rodgers he will drop ntcham for Armstrong.

    Bain
    Lustig (I know) ---- Ajer --- Tierney (I know)
    Brown --- Ntcham
Forrest ----------- Armstrong ---- Rogic----------- Roberts
    Dembele

I know it's not a conventional 3-5-2 and is more a of 3-6-1 which a lot would likely hate but I don't think going with two out and out strikers in Dembele/Griff/Eddie is going to work.

I'd Rather see Ntcham, Roberts, Forrest, Armstrong and Rogic control the tempo and drive of the game as that should be more than enough creativity and energy to overwhelm that lot and suffocate their game.

He had a good game against Zenit out there, that's about it. I don't mind him in the middle but I think he's inferior to Ntcham, Armstrong, Brown and Rogic. The pass in to Dembele was actually really poor if I remember correctly which made Dembele's pass through to Edouard even more impressive.

Just watched the goal back there and his pass in to Dembele was poor, no pace on it and well behind him. Dembele had to do all the work in that situation.

One of their players on $ky $ports news there “we just need to wait for them to make a mistake”

In other words ‘we’re * and will sit in and hope Boyata plays’

Says a lot though when teams go into games against us knowing we'll gift them at least 1 chance. Sometimes i get the feeling we create more chances for the opposition than what they do themselves.

Okay, well it's clear from this you don't appreciate what McGregor brings to the team. Thankfully the vast majority do.

The pass wasn't "really poor" by any stretch of the imagination. He had a man pressing him and played the ball behind Dembele into space knowing he had a wall of blue shirts ahead of him. Dembele does then play a belter of a pass to Edouard and the rest is history.

Ntcham and Brown are different types of player to be honest. Being inferior to Rogic isn't all that much of a slight, the guy is a *. Absolutely no chance is he inferior to Armstrong, his technique is vastly superior as shown by his much better performances in Europe than him (and Rogic too for that matter)

Armstrong has only ever shone in Scotland (and for 7 months out of over 3 years) and has regularly been diabolical in Europe eg. Anderlecht at home.

They will have to sit deep with Martin and alves at the back. Should allow us to control midfield
