Pervertie woke to her usual daily alarm.

6am. Hour of yoga. Shower. Dress. Breakfast. A single poached egg. And, of course, some hot water with lemon and stevia to detox.

She didn't notice the small tear in her new package of stevia in the cupboard. Minty sat outside in a car with Bob and Marie listening to the bug they placed in her wall. Idio, Deebo, and V watched through her window from a hill nearby with binoculars.

The listeners in the car heard her sip, and cough lightly. Then to cough heavier, and heavier. Then, silence.

The watchers on the hill confirmed the job was done.

Tim decided to stop off for a bite to eat before school started one morning. Cruising down the street in his red Challenger, he noticed the sign for a fast food joint.
"L-Los Pollos Hermanos, huh? S-s-sounds good to me."

He went up to the counter and spoke to the woman on duty.
"Can I help you this morning, sir?"
"Y-yes please. D-do you serve breakfast here?"
"Absolutely, please see the left side of our menu above."
"C-cool. Could I get a breakfast sandwich w-with extra bacon?"
"Of course, please feel free to find a seat and we will bring your food right out."

Tim went and sat in a booth and gazed out the window. The woman from the register came up to speak with him.
"I know this might sound strange, but the owner is here right now and he noticed you on the security camera. He says he happens to be friends with your father, and he was hoping to say hello to you while you were waiting on your order."
"S-sure! Where could I find him?"
"Right this way, his office is in the back."

She led him through a door in the back, and he found himself in a dimly-lit office with a well-dressed man sitting at a desk.
"Hello Tim, I don't believe I've yet had the pleasure of meeting your acquaintance," he said with a smile.
"It's n-nice to meet you! You kn-know my dad?"
"I do. You could say that we were...former business partners."
"Oh! D-did you work together at the car wash?"
The man rose from his desk and made his way toward a filing cabinet.
"Yes, we did. I believe I may have some photos around..."

He turned, with a box cutter in his hand. Swiftly, he cut Tim's carotid artery.
Once the bleeding had stopped, he wiped his face and put on an identical yellow shirt from his desk drawer, and then made a call.
"Hello? Yes, I've had a bit of a spill in my office. I would appreciate if it could be cleaned up promptly. Thank you."

Vertie was called out on a tip that a meth cook was uncovered in a local house.
When he arrived, the place was an absolute shithole. People lying on the ground drugged out, graffiti on the walls (and not the good kind), old pizza boxes strewn about. Disgusting.

"DEA!" he called out into the house. Those who were semi-conscious managed to gather themselves and bolt out the door. They weren't worth his time.

Gun drawn, he slowly ascended the stairs, and noticed a cracked door with a light on inside. He edged his way up to it, and peered through the crack.

"Peekaboo, *."
He was greeted by the barrel of a gun, which fired between his eyes.

In the Sonoran desert that morning, the silence was only broken by the extremely slow padding of small feet.

A lone tortoise made its way slowly through the scant brush.
But this was no ordinary tortoise.
It had something attached to its back, about the size of a football, with a long black tail.

If anyone was around to see it, they may have taken a closer look and found a horrifying sight...
That the object on its back was a human head.
Minty's head.
And, strangely enough, it was wearing a black pork pie hat.
Who knows why?
