Night 1


Anton returned to the seedy motel with his entertainment for the night, giggling and stumbling drunk.

He and the woman entered together, but the light did not come on. Faint moaning, and bedsprings creaking could be heard in the hall outside.

The noises began to get louder, but changed in nature. A gasp, a slap, a scream, then a BANG. Then, a SMASH, and the tinkling of shattered glass.

The door flung open and the woman, half dressed, fled into the night.

Anton stumbled out, holding the wound on his head and picking shards of broken lamp out of his hair. "That *..." he spat. He made his way down the stairs.

As he approached the parking lot, the ringing in his ears began to subside, and he noticed some new sounds getting louder. The dull scrape of heavy steel on asphalt, and boot heels clicking slowly.

"*." His heart pounded, and he half-tripped, half-ran towards his car. In the haze of his head injury, he misjudged the height of the curb and fell flat on his face. He rolled over and was greeted by a hulking man in a suit.

"Please, no," he pleaded. But the axe made a second, much deeper head wound directly between his eyes.

Night 1 continued


After hours in darkness, ODWC had the sack removed from his head to find himself on his knees, in front of a shallow grave in the desert.

"Oh no..." He groaned. He turned to see the well-dressed man standing behind him. "OHHH NOOOO..." he cried. "Listen, you can't blame me for how the old man is acting! I'm just the messenger! I'm just trying to do my job! He's going...senile or something! That cancer is getting to his brain! Look, isn't there any way we can talk this out? I'm a man of business, you know that! We can come to our own arrangement!"

The well-dressed man stared back coldly. "I'm afraid our business has reached an insurmountable impasse. And I can't trust you to simply forget my face."

"Nononono wait plea...!"
ODWC's corpse followed the bullet into the grave as it exited his head.

Night 1 concluded


Dazza sat at a dirty table in the little Mexican joint, enjoying some lunch and people-watching out the window, when suddenly her view was blocked by a large black SUV.

She watched, nibbling at her quesadilla as three men got out of the car with a black duffel bag and entered the restaurant. The one in front glared at her with sharklike eyes as he passed by and entered the back room.

Dazza didn't know what possessed her to do it - maybe she was just bored - but she decided to sneak up to the staff room door and listen carefully. She really didn't need to stand that close though.

"We made a DEAL!!!" shouted the voice from the other side, and she heard a SLAM of metal into wood. "NOBODY gets away with WALKING OVER ME LIKE THIS!!!" boomed the man again. She heard him grunting forcefully, and hard blows landing.

Suddenly, she found herself on the floor as the door was violently kicked open. She looked up to see the angry man's lip curl back in a sneer, revealing a studded grill on his teeth.

He grabbed her by the hair and held her head in front of his. "Were you spying on me, *?" he laughed. He then proceeded to beat her relentlessly, his fists cracking bones in her skull. He dropped her and spat, "Take care of this mess."

The men tossed Dazza in the dumpster behind the restaurant, and the black SUV drove off.
