Did the stadium tour earlier today but couldn't see the Treble and European Cup because Brendan nicked the trophies last night and took them to Ireland :giggle1::giggle1::giggle1:

I love how Brendan always speaks from the heart. It's true that anyone having lost both parents in that way and being a parent themselves would be forced to review their own physical well being. He basically had to reinvent himself and hasn't he done well. He's a fine looking man who looks in great shape and thankfully he's also a very good football manager. We've had a bit of poor season but it was always going to be hard on the back of the last one. He will know what his options are and will have done his homework so I don't worry about those that are likely to be leaving.

Got to agree with you. He speaks very very well and I think it is a testimony to his work ethic and the way the team played last season that we have play s UCL group stages, EL last 32, won the league cup, 9 point lead with game in hand and in the semi finals of the Scottish cup and we are saying it’s a “poor season” but he will be here for next season at least I think then he may look but he seems professionally and personally very content with his life just now as Gordon Strachan and Martin O’Neill said you really do have a shelf life as a Celtic manager of about 4 seasons as it does eventually grind you down!

It shows how strong a character he is when dealing with such tragedy he thinks about his own life in a positive way and gets fit so his children have a father for a long time.
I also don't like this "Luis Suarez" excuse. He's a great player no doubt, Barca winning the UCL in his first season when he didn't start playing till October but it was Brendan who unleashed his potential to the fullest. That is why Ajax got £27m and Liverpool got £74m? Can't remember exact amount but you get what I mean. That Liverpool team where exhilarating to watch not because of one player but because as soon as the midfield had the ball you knew how fast the ball would be moved to Sturridge and Sterling, both of whom became much better players after Brendan arrived.
Brendan also brought the best out of a Swansea team who were hardly the best players in the world but their midfielder had more completed passes than Xavi that season. I'm not saying he's better than Xavi, just that it was a sign of Brendan's philosophy because didn't Broony have most completed passes in the Group stage last year? Like 89% or something mental.

I'd never thought about it before but he is right about the press and their attitude because any success of Pochitino and Klopp won't be considered lucky because they had an extraordinary player. And rightly so.

For sure eyebrows were raised when he took over a debilitated Celtic squad and reached the Group stage then went unbeaten domestically his first season.

So while the press and naive pundits claim it's a mediocre league and his achievements mean nothing the people that matter, the people who hire and fire managers, they'll be keeping a very close eye on him because they might not know football as much as ex players but they will be looking at his CV which must be one of the best in the business.

BR: "They've all come back, all enjoyed their times away with their international teams. All back healthy and some getting good match time in their legs."

BR on @ScottBain_: "He’s come in and been fabulous really. Being thrown into the game he was thrown in, told you everything about his personality. Motherwell as well, he looked very competent."

BR on @Jack_Hendry2: "I thought he was very composed and looked as if he had played more games than he has done, and he made a critical interception in the game, which I’m not sure many other Scottish centre halves could make."

BR on @Leighgriff09: "He’s back available and been training well the past couple of weeks, so he’ll be available for selection. He’s looked very good in training. He’s a very important player for us and having him back for the rest of the season is massive for us.

BR: "We know we’re entering the real business end of the season now. We're in a great position in the league, in a cup semi-final and a wonderful opportunity to again, rewrite the history books. It’s something we’re very focused on."

BR on #CELROS: "All teams are fighting for different reasons, and of course the teams at the bottom of the league will always make it difficult. We'll prepare for a really tough game and our focus is on them only."

BR: "It was a very pleasing victory. When you come back after an international break, you’re looking to try and get some fluency as quickly as you can."

BR: "You saw the pitch today and it really helped. It was in really good condition so well done to the groundstaff for getting it to that level, which allows us to play the game much quicker."

BR: “I thought the positioning of the team was very good. We talked before the game about having that intent and intensity in the game, and I thought we started that way. We scored one in the first half but could have had a few more."

BR: . Of course they went down to 10 men. It was a really bad challenge. I feel for the Ross County staff, who're trying to keep this team in the league, and I feel for their supporters who have travelled all the way down."

BR: "If you watch it again, it’s a really poor challenge. If Jozo Simunovic gets two games for a slight elbow then I don’t know what that will be."

BR: "For us in the second half, there was a question – could we learn and improve from the second half at Motherwell? We did that, scoring two good goals. We on the ball back quickly, counter-pressed it and had lots of chances."

BR on @StuArmstrong16's performance: “Very good. He has been building his way back into contention & he showed his energy & all the qualities he has. It was a great goal, but he worked really hard & played the postion really well and had good tactical discipline."

BR on squad strength: “We are going into a really exciting part of the season where it’s now all about your mental fitness. We have the talent and now it’s about one game at a time. We got our three points today and played well - and it’s important we perform well."

BR: "You saw the crowd today - for a top v bottom clash, we virtually had a full house. I thought we were back today to a lot where we were last year. It was a really good performance."

Seen this on a Facebook page....

Journalist to BR: "Did the Rangers result give you a little lift before the game?"

BR: "No not really. It's completely irrelevant"

Does anyone know if Brendan said this today?

If he did, then top drawer. :50:

Good to hear him call out the challenge on Brown. Citing Jozo's ban for 2 games for an innocuous elbow, so all eyes on how the governing body punish this one.

    Surely 3 game minimum ban.

BR on @ScottBain_ ineligibility and Craig Gordon: " Yes, ineligible. We are just going to check with Craig to make sure everything is ok but he’s been back in training and if he declares himself ready then he will play

BR on @ScottBain_: "He’s shown all the attributes in his short time here. He’s definitely someone we want to keep here long term. Hopefully his representatives and the club can organise a deal for him to be here.

BR on @ScottBrown8: "I think what rarely gets talked about is what a good player he is. I’ve been fortunate enough to work in the Championship and top end of the Premier League. This is a player that would go right in at the top end of the Premier League.

BR: "Tactically he’s so good. His ability to read the game, be in the positions to recover the ball, to make the attack. We should try and emulate what his qualities are. If we can produce Scottish players like that then you’d have some really good players."

BR on #CELDUN: "We expect it to be tough. They had a good result on Sunday, so it’s going to be a good game for us. It’s also going to be a tough game for them. We are off the back of playing well with good fluency and energy back in the team."

BR on @kierantierney1: "He’ll rejoin training towards the end of the week, he’s out with the medical team and looking very strong. He should be back training Thursday."
