Absolutely. That was sickening stuff. The footage really shoots down in flames all the excuses from hun hand wringers.

No excuse for that kind of violence.

there can be no excuse, so all eyes on the SPL and UEFA whilst we wait to hear what they have to say.

Can't wait for the statement from Mordor itself though, too many times they've got off the hook lightly, not this time, surely?

That cctv video being showning on sky sports news shows perfectly the animals that they are..about 30 of them attacking one cop.
Everywhere they've been they caused trouble..and its been places where celtic have went before hand and behaved excellently.Manchester was invade for Ryan Giggs and Roy keanes Testamonial and then the Champions League games..no violence. Villareal ended up with a Celtic Supporters Club..the huns smashed the place up. Barcelona usually couldnt wait for celtic to arrive but after rangers wrecking the place, the bars and police were much more strict. Celtics fan zone in Barcelona was a party from start to finish.Nobody is surprized by their antics..I just hope that something is finally done about them so that Celtics good name isnt dragged through the mud.

SPL let them away with murder, litraly!
UEFA should and probably will hammer them.

After the Villa Real incident, did UEFA not say if Rangers are in trouble with them again in the next few years they will ban them? Well that was only a few years ago!!!

    another ibrox disastar averted

    Rangers FC

The trouble started close to home, with fans experiencing considerable distress whilst trying to gain access to the Ibrox Stadium 'beamback' of the big match against Zenit St Petersburg

whilst trying to gain access to the Ibrox Stadium 'beamback' of the big match against Zenit St Petersburg.

The club had openly encouraged fans to bring their families to the event using online and print media, and also with announcements at previous home games.

Chief executive Martin Bain said of the event: "We want to make sure the fans without tickets have the opportunity to experience the party atmosphere. Supporters and families will be able to turn up at the gates on the night, with entry free of charge."

This was not entirely the case. Bain failed to anticipate the estimated 65,000 who would flock to the 25,000-capacity event, which was un-ticketed. The club's oversights very nearly led to disaster.

One Rangers fan, Tom, asked some key questions on his popular blog after trying to gain access to the event at around 5pm: "There appeared to be far less police and stewards than on a normal matchday.

"Fans were stood in the queue drinking. Would you be allowed to do that before a normal match? No. So why were folk being allowed to do it here?

"Is drinking not still illegal on the streets of Glasgow? So why is it allowed somewhere where there should have been a strong police presence?"

Rangers FC had stated on their official website that: "Fans are encouraged to be there by 7.15pm to guarantee a spot."

Thus, the reported 'crush' that ensued must have taken many supporters by surprise - some with young families in tow as encouraged - especially at around 5pm. At this point, the official site announced: "The gates at Ibrox have been closed. Fans are advised to go elsewhere if they wish to watch the match as nobody else will be granted entry."

Tom continued in his blog, aided by photographs of the scenes, reporting: "I saw one girl run past me with blood pouring from her head shouting to a policeman. Another said, "I've been bottled." The final straw for me came when I had to alert a mounted policeman to a mass brawl that was taking place 100 yards away."

Supporters of any clubs realise that there are a minority of "supporters" who ruin it for everyone else. However, club and city officials also must have realised that, especially on a rare day of blazing sunshine and excitement, they should have been able to 100% guarantee fans' safety, especially given that children who had been invited to attend.

Considering that Rangers have slammed the Scottish football authorities of late over the lack of organisation and foresight that led to the fixture pile-up, it seems curious that they would have such a nonchalant attitude towards the safety of their own supporters during Rangers' biggest game in 36 years.

That really is stunning footage. Even I was shocked when I seen it for the first time. It's like something from the 80's when hooliganism was common.

And the time indicates it was well after the end of the match so they can't claim it was down to the screen failure.
