Brendan Fraudgers!

He got it very wrong today. Starting 4 at the back with no natural left or right backs was a bit insane for me.

 

Not one for criticising BR but the decision to leave Hendry at right back instead of dropping Forrest back was wrong I thought - and by that I mean when Forrest came off. Hendry struggled in the last third. They had 10 men and we could have went for it.

 

Thought as soon as I seen the team he’d made a mistake with no natural full backs. Was a weird back 4.

 

I thought it would be McGregor wing back and 3 at the back..

Think he was cautious of their height and threat in the air..

Definitely got some calls wrong today. A fee in hindsight..

 

Think we’ll be a lot better next season with a team of players that actually want to be here

 

For the first time....I'm not so,so sure anymore.

More than anything the monotonous back and forth, side to side play is doing my head in......I get the theory but suspect that the other teams in the league are wide to it now and press players who have shown that they're less comfortable on the ball which in turn causes tension when there's no need of it.

I understand that all the big teams do it but they have the players that can execute it without sweat but we most certainly don't.

Difficult season for BR and it's hard to understand some of his tactics....just sometimes, know what I mean?

Might need a GK, CB, RB, LB, CM, ST x 2

Dembele & Edouard might lose both..

 

Morgan will come and hopefully Johnston will get some game time.. and we have Hayes ..

Paddy & Edouard on signed on perms would be ideal..

If we win back to back trebles and the fact we finished 3rd in the CL, might make our board think otherwise..

 

If we can keep Paddy Roberts and Edouard, we only need a right back and centre half, for me anyway. Whether Man City & PSG agree to another season long long is another story though, as I think Paddy would be out of our price range and Edouard is not worth the supposed fee being quoted of £8m at this stage, especially to us.

Go out and sign a proven centre half and right back and we would be far stronger if we can keep everyone fit.

A decent backup left back would be handy as well right enough.

 

I defo didn’t see it as a back 4 for me we lined up like this..

I do think he got his personnel wrong tho, should have freshened it up from the start..

Boyata over Compper.. ... can only hope he’s trying to get Boyata punted..

Ajer not exploitimg the space in front of him too was very frustrating, he needed to push our from the back and make Motherwell commit towards him and free up space..

Sending Ralston on loan too seems a weird one, he at least gives an option in a back 4 rather than a misfiring Lustig..

Ajer did it early on and gave it straight away. Maybe he was told to reign it in or wasn't confident after that..

I deffo didn't think it would be a flat back 4 either. I feel like they don't suit as as much as they did by and large..

 

Aye it did look like he was under instruction, this is what he’ll do naturally through experience. He had ample time to bring the ball forward but more often and not he went square to Hendry, Tbf he will have seen how comfortable Hendry is on the ball as as went to him a bit too often..

Guess they are all still getting used to playing with one another. The sooner we have a back 3 of Hendry, Ajer and Compper the better.. Ajer had an excellent timed tackle in the final first half..

 

He seemed to be the 1 staying tight to that big handful they had up top after he kept beasting Boyata. Probably was told to just keep it simple and stay back. That was a great challenge last ditch..

Said it earlier but felt Brendan was too cautious second half. Edouard was poor out left but to just go with 1 up against 10 men at nil nil didn't work. Took off our width with Forrest on 1 side and Roberts naturally comes inside. Hendry isn't comfortable overlapping and making something happen so that almost killed our right side completely and Rogic was then trying to go over there in some space..

Aye it's one area I think we'll need to be patient until we get some continuity with Ajer, Hendry, Compper, Boyata, Simunovic and still Lustig. If we keep chopping and changing, we're gonna look vulnerable and nervous across the full team..

 

First half it was a flat back four mate. He changed it 2nd half but it had already set the tone for me.

 

Our shape is flexible mate but McGregor defo wasn’t playing LB.. and sometimes you’ll find him in that position but he was defo WB.. imo..
