    Typical sportsman-like behaviour from KT.

Rather than steal the glory, he plays the team game and looked for his teammate.

A quality rarely seen in modern-day footballers.

I'm convinced he's a time traveller from the past.

But apart from that, he's a lovely bhoy :shamrock:

Like others have said he was defending 2 players most of the time and did a reasonable job, lucky Brown was in the box to clear most of the crosses coming in 2nd half. One negative that is getting clearer is when he gets to the line and instead of looking up to see who is in the box (sometimes no one) he will cross it anyway, instead of holding the ball for a couple more seconds. Deserves a rest since he has been doing the work of two players since Sinclair lost his form, play Miller for 2-3 games

Exactly what I thought. It's incredible how young he is but I think he could fit into any Celtic team photo since 1888 and not look out of place, a fans favourite in every one.
I hope with a couple more years experience he'll know when to blast those top corner and when to square. If he keeps improving it's scary how good he could become.

NEW Scotland coach Peter Grant believes Kieran Tierney deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as his all-time hero Danny McGrain and can go on and emulate the Celtic great’s achievements.
National team manager Alex McLeish has appointed former Celtic midfielder Grant, who he worked with at Birmingham City, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest, to his backroom team.
Grant admitted he is greatly looking forward to working with defender Tierney, who is a contender to succeed Scott Brown as his country’s captain, in the future.
The man who spent 13 years as a player at Parkhead counts McGrain as a former team mate and feels the 20-year-old can enjoy an equally accomplished career for club and international level.
“Tierney is a top, top player,” he said. “He has been playing exceptionally well for Celtic in big, big games for many years now. That tells you enough about him.
“Gordon (former Scotland boss Strachan) played him on the right side of defence – the only one I can remember doing that before was Danny McGrain when he and Sandy Jardine played. What top players both of them were.
“But Kieran is more than capable of doing that. He knows he can play left back comfortably and he can also play left centre back.
“In the modern day game, especially at European level and international level, there are not a * of a lot of crosses come into your box. It is all about positional play and his positional play has been outstanding.
"Andy Robertson has also been on top of his game playing at a top class club with a lot of pressure on him. We are very fortunate. There will always be places for those boys in the team never mind the squad as long as they are fit.”
Grant added: “Danny was my hero – he still is to this day. I was very fortunate that when I made my debut Danny was playing alongside me. I know how good a player he is. I didn’t just work with him as a youngster.
"He was the first guy I saw going to a gym. The gym at Celtic Park was in the old stand and you needed a coat on to go there, it was that cold. But Danny was up there every day working on his body, he was so strong.
“Danny was up at the club every day, working on his body and was physically so strong. But he was one of the best defenders who has ever been. He wasn’t just one of the best players in Scotland in his day he was one of the best in Europe. He was voted one of the best in the world at that time.
“He is a wonderful man and is a wonderful professional. I think Kieran deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as him. He knows he is going to win a lot more caps for Scotland and get up there with Danny. He has the potential to go that distance and be ranked alongside him, that’s for sure.”

KIERAN Tierney may have played more minutes than any other outfield players in Europe this season, but the Celtic full-back’s focus is showing no sign of fatigue, particularly with a second successive treble still to play for.

For Tierney, it’s business as usual and he’s sticking with his winning formula. With the end of the season now approaching, each remaining game takes on a whole new level of importance.

Brendan Rodgers’ team are adept at handling such situations, however, as was evident in Sunday’s game against Rangers at Ibrox where a 10-man Celtic side came from behind twice to secure a remarkable 3-2 win.

A seventh successive league title is now edging ever closer and the Celtic squad are determined to continue their incredible period of making history.

The significance of the remaining fixtures from now until the end of the season might change the perspective of the games from the outside, but for Tierney, it’s important that he approaches them in the same way as any other game in order to ensure he can be 100 per cent focused.

It’s that mindset which allowed him and his team mates to stay composed when they went a man down against Rangers.

“Before a big game I still go out and play pool or snooker with my friends or play the PlayStation with them, just the normal stuff really,” said the Hoops defender in an exclusive interview with this week's Celtic View.

“If you think about it too much and change your routines, you don’t feel as comfortable. You need to surround yourself with friends and people who make you feel positive so you’re not over-thinking it. When I’m out with my friends I’m having a laugh with them and we don’t talk about football an awful lot.

“Obviously Celtic is our topic and I like talking about Celtic as well because we all love the club, but we’re all on the same level and just get on with it really. It’s good to chill out and talk about other stuff sometimes and that can help you be mentally refreshed when you come into the games.”

Bet he's excellent on the Playstation if his team is Celtic, he would hate us ever getting beat :yeah:

Can't help feeling he maybe needs a rest but at the same time I can't help feeling more optimistic when he's playing.

KIERAN TIERNEY is out of Celtic’s game at Motherwell today AND Scotland’s friendlies against Costa Rica and Hungary.
SunSport understands the 20-year-old has a calf knock but is expected to be fit again for the Premiership game against Ross County on March 31.

It’s a big blow for Scots boss Alex McLeish ahead of the double header which will officially start his second spell in charge of the national team.

McLeish had also been seriously considering Tierney for the captain’s armband after the outstanding left-back impressively led the team in last November’s friendly defeat to Holland at Pittodrie.

However, Eck isn’t exactly short of cover at left-back – with on form Liverpool star Andy Robertson and Wolves’ Barry Douglas also in his squad.

Tierney has barely missed a game for club and country over the last year and it’s no surprise that he’s suffered a muscle strain.

He could still meet up with McLeish’s squad as the sacked Gordon Strachan’s successor regroups the players following their latest qualification favour.

    Really convenient timing, funny that.

The kid definitely needs a rest. We don't need him vs Motherwell - even a win and we're still well clear in the League - and he certainly doesn't need to play in these nonsense friendlies for Scotland.

He'll enjoy a week off, get back for training and be fit for the Ross County game.

Definitely. Be interesting to see him play the wing back role, if we go with a back three which is likely.

Blatantly just a rest. To be honest we shouldn't even need to lie to jakey considering he's played more football than any other player in Europe..

Wouldn't be surprised if McGregor went left wing back and Compper left sided centre half today..
