When he goes to Arsenal, we should get Wenger. It's a no-brainer.

    Allez Les Celtic!

I would rather from now on win the SPL and improve in Europe than do * in it and win a treble.

Imagine the signings Wenger would do at Celtic when he is a cheap penny pinching * even at Arsenal. We would miss the good old days when we had Scott Bain and Nadir Ciftci

On hearing that Rangers players cheered when learning they would face Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi finals, Rodgers observed: "be careful what you wish for".

BR: “We’re really looking forward to the game. They’re always great games to be involved in.”

BR: “The game itself is a wonderful game and I’m lucky enough to have been involved in 8 of them. It’s a game that excites us.”

BR: “In these types of games, form doesn’t really matter as they bring out a different emotion in the players and emotion from the stands.”

BR: “We want to win the game and we’ll focus very much on our performance. Rangers need to win the game and that’s different.”

BR: “We’ll focus on our team and how we play. We’ll look to go there and do what we’ve done before which is play really good football.”

BR on injuries: “Dedryck is back and has been training really well. Stuart Armstrong is back too which is great news for us and he comes back into the squad."

BR: “Leigh is out on the training pitch but this game has come a little too soon for him. Craig is on course and recovering really well.”

Brendan Rodgers has insisted that he has heard it all before in terms of the noise that has emerged from Ibrox this week.

Rangers are in confident mood ahead of tomorrow’s lunchtime showdown but Rodgers has paid little heed to what has been said in the build-up to the game.

Gers boss Graeme Murty revealed that there was a loud cheer to emerge from the Ibrox dressing room when it emerged that they would be facing Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup – a date that will now see two games between the sides in the space of a week next month – but Rodgers has insisted that his focus lies only with his own team.

“I am not one to look over the fence and see what the neighbour has,” said the Celtic manager. “It is irrelevant here. We have to do our own work. They obviously feel really confident but we have been there before when they were going for 55.

“For me the focus is on ourselves. Graeme has done a very good job in stabilising the team and going for a more British core.

“He has brought it one or two players who are going to work and going to run and a couple of players there who are supporters of the club and that always means that little bit more. He has then got a stable set-up when everyone is fit and he has done very well.

“You can’t ignore that but it is not a worry. You concentrate on your own self and your own work and brining your best into the game and see where it takes you.”

Murty’s side go into the encounter on the back of a decent run of form – they have dropped only three points since the last time they played Celtic – but Rodgers has cautioned that their form has to be seen in context.

And the Parkhead manager also believes that having put themselves out there in terms of the expectancy levels for the game that they now have to deliver on the pitch.

“They’ll want to win,” he said. “It should be a fantastic game because they’re in decent form, even though the goals they’ve scored have come against Championship teams, with all due respect.

“The one game of theirs I watched which gave a true measure was the Hibs game at Ibrox, against a team which plays with a good speed and intensity and aggression.

“That was a good measure of them at that level and it will be equally tough for us but we can only control our own efforts and our own game.

“It is a similar feeling, a similar noise [when they were going for 55]. If you have that expectancy then great, you have to go and deliver.

“You always have to be careful what you wish for. The job is always to respect your opponent. Rangers have got good players, they have a fanbase who are now expecting and they have a manger who has done a very good job of going in and stabilising. They will want to go on now and win the game. I can only control our own emotions.”

Brendan doesn't like the noise coming out of large sections of the media. "Rangers are this, Rangers are that, Rangers, Rangers, Rangers". Nobody is talking about the best team in Scotland, and that has put a wee dent in his ego. Good. He'll want to make sure there's only one team anyone is talking about after Sunday.

Regardless of what happens on Sunday, I'm certain we're doing the treble again. Since the winter break we haven't had Sinclair, Armstrong, Rogic, Roberts, Griffiths and Dembele fit & on form, so it's no surprise we have looked a bit blunt since the turn of the year.

Those players scored a combined 115 goals last season, and in their 'absence' we've been pretty much relying on James Forrest over the last two months. Tomorrow is almost certainly too soon to be seeing anything like the best of these guys, but in 3-4 weeks time all six of them should (touch wood) be available for selection. A fully fit squad to finish the season will make an enormous difference to our form.
