Thought he done well yesterday, could be the calm head we need at the back. So composed in possession.

My only worry about him is this game is going to be played at 100 mile a hour pace and don't think he would last the 90 mins.

He'll be starting. He looks a naturally fit guy and the minutes he got yesterday will have done him the world of good. Aside from a dodgy pass he looked pretty solid and it always helps to get a bit of experience in the team.

He's a left-sided player as well, so that helps as he can come over and cover when Tierney bombs forward.

    My thinking too.

I was thinking that yesterday, I know it's only Morton we played but he had that look about him like he was only in second gear.

As you say, he played over 200 games in the best league in the world. I'm sure he will be able to deal with a couple of fannies in the SPFL. Especially Jason Cummings and Alfredo Morelos. Bang average strikers.

Has to start. Makes a world of difference having a left sided player starting on the left side of defence. So many times the defence get themselves tangled up trying to get things on their stronger foot or do things with their weaker foot. He looked very comfortable bar one misplaced pass right at the start and then he pinged a quality one time ball in to Sinclair which completely opened up the pitch and is what we're missing.

For those who are in love.....
    He's 100% starting..

Played most of the game yesterday and another week's training under his belt...he'll be fine..

Good composure with both feet and that balance that sees him comfortably passing inside to central midfield with ease..

We got him to slot in as an experienced head in a young back line and that's what we'll get next week..

Celtic new bhoy Marvin Compper has insisted that his ability to think and keep his cool makes him an ideal fit for this Sunday’s game against Rangers at Ibrox.

The defender finally made his debut for the club during Saturday’s 3-0 win over Morton and having got himself into the team he is keen to stay there.

And his experience in high-pressure situations is what makes Compper believe he is suited to going straight into the head of the game against Rangers.

“In games like this I think the most important thing is that you have the right temperament,” he said. “I have played in very similar games and some intense German derby games.

“I am a calm player under pressure. And most players will tell you that in games like this it is about your ability to think and use your head. You have to be able to concentrate and not be distracted by what might be going on round about you. It is not so much about your match fitness, although that is important, but also in your awareness of what is happening.

“That is where having the right kind of experience comes in and I think I have that. But it is the decision of the manager.

“Everyone wants to play. We will see what happens next weekend but with a good week of training then I hope I am involved in some way but the most important thing is that the team wins the game and takes the points.”

Compper was relieved to finally get his debut out of the way after struggling with two calf injuries since his arrival in January.

The 32-year-old was sidelined almost immediately after coming into the club and he has admitted that he is delighted to finally get himself onto the pitch.

“It isn’t a great situation when you come to a new club and can’t play,” he said. “But it is behind me now.

“It was good to get 80 minutes into my legs on Saturday. Obviously it will take a little bit of time for me to find my full level of fitness but I am quite naturally fit. It will not take too long for me to get match fit and hopefully then the Celtic fans can see the best of me.

“I have settled well into the club. I have enjoyed training and now it is just about keeping the focus on the last few months of the season. This is when the games are so important and everyone at the club wants to work hard to make sure that there is a lot of success when the season reaches an end.

Hopefully I can have a big part to play in that.”

Tierney and Ralston at FB. Cement their places then go on to preseason strong.
.guy looks good, intelligent and knows his role in the side. He will bring on the whole backline I feel

    I like his composure.

Going to throw it out now though, I bet Celtic fans have questions about him within weeks. He'll be too casual in style for a lot of people.

Big VVD was as casual as they come as well, if he plays well and keeps clean sheets the fans will love him.

Wouldn't play him on Sunday, needs more game time to get up to speed.. think it's a risk we don't need to take.

He’s a centre back, not a winger. He will last the 90 easy.
