Staff should collect glasses, can’t expect someone to walk to the bar with a handful of glasses each time, especially when they’re *

Nah, it takes no effort to take a couple of glasses up to the bar with you, particularly when you’re going up to get another round.

    That’s the bar staffs job.

In my local they are lifted within minutes of being empty.

I’ve never in my life seen anybody bring their glasses back, as Deebo says there are people whose job that is.

In my local you’d probably get two empty glasses on a table before someone is around to collect them.

Plastic cup handed to you in exchange for your glass at last orders aswell so even then it’s sorted

If Im in my local and there’s only 1 person serving I will usually take the glasses back up. If it was a busy city centre pub or something I wouldn’t bother.

I'd feel like a * leaving a glasses on the table while heading for anther or leaving.

So they're too * to bring a few glasses back but it's ok for them to stagger back to the table with full glasses?

My two locals you dont get rounds yourself you order and the lounge staff bring it to the table because they don’t want drunk people carrying glasses , most pubs in my area have lounge staff, even midweek on quiet days.

Probably why it seems weird to me. My sisters job used to be to just collect glasses and bring rounds to tables.

Definitely not fancy :56: just big pubs that are well staffed I'd say.

Cab drivers who milk the ride. Natural for them to want to squeeze you for cash, but had an experience today - guy made the $7-8 drive into $15 by driving 30 in a 50, 50 in a 70... all during a drive that should've taken about 5 minutes.

Shouldn’t have even bothered coming in to work today, was alright down my way.

Went to the gym this morning in East Kilbride and it was getting worse, hit Coatbridge and it’s gridlocked.

It may be the bar staff's job but no harm in a bit of common courtesy. It's like fast food places where people don't clear their trays away, there's someone employed to do it but no harm in taking the minute effort to go to the bin yourself.

    This.

We are becoming more and more * lazy. So many people think its someone elses duty to clean up behind them nowadays.

You're quite right that it's someone else's "job" to collect your glasses, but that's not to say you shouldn't be showing any sort of * basic courtesy by not being so lazy and (as far as I'm concerned, from having both worked behind a bar and ran one) disgusting by not picking up a glass and taking it back to the bar - moreso when you are leaving, or if the place is busy and you can see the folk working behind the bar are busy.

You see it all the time in somewhere like McDonald's or something - there's a designated worker who goes around picking up the trays, but I would find it very embarrassing if I left my tray full of * and food for someone else to clean up after me.

My mrs has seen it over the years as well in restaurants she manages - folk coming in with weans and whatnot, leaving an absolute RIOT (food flung all over the place, paper towels dropped on floor etc) and * just walking out without as much as even trying to leave it a bit more organised.

    * shocking in all honesty.

Nothing lazy about it when the pub literally have staff that are there to take round orders and pick up empties, if there was no * going around to pick up glasses You’d obviously bring them back.

On a weekend my local will have 5/6 people behind the bar and 2/3 people collecting glasses/round orders.

I wouldn’t be able to keep 3 empty glasses on the table If i was trying to.

You’re probably all used to smaller pubs where that wouldn’t be happening.

I know if people are out with young kids they make a mess, it's what the wee buggers do, but the parent should clean it up when they are finished and once the bairn is old enough they should be told to do it themselves. When I was a kid me and my brother had to take it in turns to take the stuff left to the bins at the likes of Mcd's etc. In fact, even as an *, if I was out with my Mum and tried to leave a mess she would have given me a thick ear and rightly so.

I totally agree with you about the pubs as well. I just cant get my head round someone finishing a drink then heading to the bar for another but leaving the empty at their *. I often wonder what the houses of people who have this someone else will pick it up attitude must look like.
