Decision to keep Dembele on the pitch when he sent on Edouard for Sinclair was genius considering most people would have went with a straight swap with only 10 men on the pitch at that point.

I liked that he tried to bring a bit more out of Sinclair by moving him inside. With KT's engine, he's not really needed there.

Didn't work out as Sinky's struggling, but would like to see that again against Dundee. Although I'd rather see Musonda in there.

[/QUOTED="ChrisMoh, post: 5901224, member: 24736"]Second year syndrome is alot of pish:56:,his second season at liverpool was his best year there. His best year swansea was also his second season.[/QUOTE] It's more aimed at teams that are champions the previous year. Look at real, anderlecht, feyenoord, Chelsea and celtic all playing very poorly compared to last year. Fergie once said it's best to split up a championship winning team to keep the focus and drive in the team.

BR on @ScottBrown8: "It’s great news for Celtic and obviously sad for the Scotland team. I think the last time he went back was for Gordon and to help out someone he was really close to."

BR: "For him and his career going forward and for his own fitness he wants to prolong his career at club level and with the number of games we have here, taking away international football is a real sensible decision."

BR: "He’s been a wonderful player for Scotland and a real inspirational captain. It’s great news for Celtic because we have someone who is fresh after international breaks and we’ll benefit from that."

BR: "I never realised how good a player he was until I worked with him. I always saw him from the outside and thought he was a good player but if the measure is the Premier League, then of course he could have gone on to play at the very top end of that.

BR on KT: "He’s learned from Broony in his time in the first team with over 100 games. You can see that nothing phases him either. Whether it’s international football, he’s the same and he’s someone who would be a credible successor to Broony if that’s what Alex chooses."

BR on #CELDUN: "The games that we’ve played against them this season have been tough. We’ve come out on top but we always have to concentrate and do our work in terms of defensive organisation and taking our opportunities."

BR: "We don’t underestimate them. They’ve shown that they can come away from home and get results. For us there’s certainly no complacency. We’re entering the last 10 games of the season now and we want to win every one of them."

BR: "Patrick should be available for the squad. The idea was to work him back to the squad for the Dundee game. We’ll assess Marvin Compper too so there’s a possibility that he could be involved as well

Patrick Roberts is expected to play his first game of the year tomorrow night against Dundee while Marvin Compper could also make his debut for the Parkhead side.

Roberts came through a development game unscathed last Friday night while Compper has shaken off a calf injury in each leg since his arrival at the club in January.

However, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Kristoffer Ajer is a doubt for tomorrow night’s game against Neil McCann's side at Celtic Park.

Ajer was left with a heavily bandaged head after clashing with Jozo Simunovic in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon. Ajer managed to see the game out but with a swollen eye may not make it in time for tomorrow's clash.

Mikael Lustig is suspended for the game but there is an alleviation in the injury issues with Tom Rogic getting a few games under his belt with Compper and Roberts set to follow.

“Kris has suffered from the head knock and we’ll need to see how he is in the next 24 hours,” said the Celtic manager.

“He ended up with his head all bandaged up like Rab C. Nesbitt! The problem is above his eye. He obviously needed stitched up on the pitch but after the game his eye fully closed.

“It was probably hard for Bobby Madden to see the clash at the time and if he had he would have stopped the game.

“Patrick will be back available for Dundee. Marvin Compper as well. Patrick played in the development game last week and has been training for a few weeks.

“It’s great to have him back. You see his quality and his creativity, he’s fantastic to have back.

“We need to be careful and manage him, without holding the player back. He’s worked very hard in the last few weeks.

“It’s a bit like we seen with Tom Rogic. When you are out for a while you need eased back in with minutes here and there. It will need to be the same with Pat.

“Marvin had the initial knock on his calf in Dubai then he was getting back fit and he felt the tightness on the other side.

“He’s been training for a little while now so we will see.”

Rodgers also explained that while he was consulted by Scott Brown prior to the decision to step down from international football, the final call came from the player himself.

“We spoke briefly about it," said Rodgers. "It’s been several months since he last played for Scotland but this choice was always going to be down to Scott and now we can move forward.

“I’ve always got an opinion on it but ultimately it had to be down to him.

“He spoke to Alex and I spoke to Alex as well, so they are in agreement and at least now they can move forward together and Scott can celebrate a great history of playing for Scotland."

    Just can't get enough
Is anyone getting a little bit * with the tactics being deployed this season, not trying to be critical well I'm am actually,
The slow build up play to midfield then back to the keeper to start over is what I'm getting at, we do that about 80% of the time and it slows the whole team down the attacking players have to drop deeper and deeper to receive the ball than have no choice but to play it back as no one else it up front and the opposition are back covering, its the exact same tactics that bread head used and you see the same problems, last season we were more flexible in our tactics i know injury's play a part but that's not an excuse for me

It isn’t the tactics though, you see Rodgers getting * off with it. Aye, be patient, and we done the exact same thing last season. What we aren’t doing is playing between the lines anymore, when the patient play has drawn them out and we get that quick sharp pass in behind a midfield or defence. It still happens but not on the same scale, see Dembele’s goal on Sunday for an example of that.

We lack a lot of movement just now that’s killing this, last season Sinclair was moving all over the place, Dembele/Griffiths was confident and taking the ball in and getting beyond defenders, we had Rogic playing between the defence and midfield and Armstrong bursting in beyond them all. We had Roberts movement and ability to beat a man - the only man who’s improved on this is James Forrest. Which is why he’s banging them in this season.

The players need to up their game for me, not the tactics.

Thought they want Simeone ? Bang on about it every single year.
He knows he’ll get time at Arsenal tbf. Don’t see it happening though.
