I know its probably been said but i cant for the life of me understand why he makes so many changes before a European game?

Play you strongest/nearly strongest 11 and then make changes. Look at how Pep is at City, he always starts a strong team regardless of the competition.

The team individually was poor but I still think BR in Europe has a huge question mark over his head, even if he has got us past the group phase.

Basel dont have loads of dosh but consistently have a style and temperament that gets them in the CL last 16.

I get there is more nuance to this argument, but fundamentally they are my feelings.

I dont really have an issue with the roatation. Given we flopped vs zenit I get why people question it however he wanted to give that starting 11 the best chance. I also think the team vs st johnstone has enough talent in it - sinclair, edouard, mcgregor, musonda, etc- to win at home against an out of form bottom half team.

The pep strategy is different in that he often makes lot of changes in the domestic cups and also in the champions league group game, but plays his strongest team in the league. But that is because he plays against stronger teams in the league. Man City lost to Wigan last week with a second team playing - that is just part of the risk when you try to win everything.

European Football after Christmas is job done for us just now. This season is a success in Europe. Not a failure.

I used to like how he wouldn't tolerate sub par performances and bench people who are not doing well regardless of anything.

This is gone. Lustig and Dembele got a free pass to play half arsed football.

BR: “I thought it was a brilliant win for ourselves. We’re 72 hours back from Russia, arguably the toughest place to come away from, and to have an away game so soon afterwards. is tough I thought we dealt with everything really well though.”

BR: “The first goal was a really great example of our players’ technical qualities on a really difficult surface. It was a great goal, good passing and movement and a great header by Moussa.

BR: “We had more chances and in the first half we controlled the game, second half we slowed the game down and played with a different tempo.”

BR: “We showed real resilience and mentality to manage the game when we went down to 10 men and score a brilliant counter attacking goal.”

BR: “All in all, I’m really proud of the team, it’s always going to be a really tough game here. We know the signpost of where we want to go and today was a fantastic win for us.

BR: “It was always going to be a big game. They always are, they’re always great games against Aberdeen and when you play that day later there can be that little bit more pressure on you.”

BR: “We focus on ourselves, that’s all we can do. To come away from here with a win having had the game in midweek was a brilliant victory for us.”

BR: “He’s [Brown] a big game player, especially in those moments when we go down to 10 men he revels in it even more. Like he is in the big games, he’s an absolutely brilliant leader.

BR: “It was a naughty challenge on him by the boy who got sent off. But he bounces back up again. He’s a real player of dominance in the big games and he showed it again today.”

    What a 10 days

    High Zenit at home
    Low St J at home
    Very low Zenit away
    Massive high Dons away.

Imagine being a fan of another club, and not sharing these emotions!
