Come on mate, it’s not a major achievement.

I know we don’t have a * given right to win those ties but we’re selling ourselves short if that is seen as a major achievement. Their star player is Bendtner.

Last 32 of the Europa League should be considered as a success this season.

We need to try and add real quality to help these ‘boys’ out...

If we do that.. we will have a much better chance at this level.

If course we don't but we were better than every side we faced..

That side (Rosenborg) was probably on a par with Helsingborg who we pumped under Lenny. Actually Helsinborg were more dangerous. Basically they were ok and not much more..

A fit Griff first leg and we'd of pumped them no doubt..

It was a major achievement.. Scottish teams never win in places like that.. they were much further ahead of us in fitness levels..

Rosenborg are bang average. With the players and manager we have, beating them is not a major achievement.

It was a good result but look at it this way, if Rosenborg had put us out how would we all be reacting? It would have been an absolute shocker.

Champions League Group stages and Europa League football post-Christmas is, on paper, a successful campaign at this point in time for Celtic.

But losing 6 and conceding 21 (I think) in 8 games is really poor. Probably only 3 passable performances in those 8 as well (Bayern at home, Anderlecht away and Zenit at home).

Player wise maybe but I remember watching the game on BBC Scotland and although Commons set us on the way to the 1st or 2nd, they were actually all over us and much much more of a threat than Rosenborg were at home. They had a Serbian boy up top who was clean through a few time's but had his diddy boots on..

We had no striker and a makeshift defence against Rosenborg at home, barely creating a chance because of it...not because Rosenborg were a good side..

I expect nothing in Europe unless seeded. I do, however expect a keeper to save that second goal (can forgive a one off but that was not) and I also expect us to change tactics to suit the occasion. Playing attacking away from home is definitely not always the way to go.

When we drew 0-0 at home were you confident of progressing?

Playing them when they are flying in their season and not beating them at home, made beating them away to progress a major achievement.

I thought we would do well this season in Europe and we haven't albeit we got another tough group but we should never be getting embarrassed the way we have and going out to an average team that hasn't played competitive football in 2 months.

I still expected us to go through yeah.

3-3 against a City team who were flying down south was a great achievement. 3-0 at Anderlecht. 5-0 against Astana.

Beating Rosenborg 1-0 is really what we should be doing. How much is their team worth in comparison to ours?

I dont think we can consider scraping past rosenburg to be a major achievement and then write off competing with richer clubs than us because they spend more money. In the natural pecking order celtic should be beating rosenburg just as teams like zenit should be beating us.

It's always a good result winning away in Europe. We made it hard work of it but as soon as we had an actual striker when Griff came on second leg, we were the superior side..

I do take the point about team's halfway through their season. That'll always be a potential banana skin for us..

    Totally agree.

We should absolutely be expected to beat Rosenborg over two legs.

I'd say Europe after Christmas is what I'd say is the best we can do and anything else is a massive bonus, of course looking at the performance in the first leg you'd think we probably could have gotten through this tie because we looked like the better side.
