Not in the context of the whole season it isnt. It isnt fantastic but having won the league cup, still in the scottish cup, and half way there to the last 16 of the europa cup, being 9 points ahead with that win percentage feels ok.

9pts lead win vs aberdeen then slaughter the huns at ibrox would finish it even counting the other games wich all 3 will probably drop points, we are more likely to draw than get beat though.

I would definitely want to see us not revert to the passive, possession-centered style that was doing so poorly in Scotland as of late. Why couldn't he tell players to be more direct versus StJ? The draw is down to a tactic that only works for those trying to waste time and preserve a result. We needed to gamble, if we wanted to win.

Being 9 points ahead with out record would be more concerning if we hadn't won the league cup, weren't en route to at least a semi final in the Scottish AND still in with a fighting chance of the last 16 of the Europa against a good outfit. Put everything into context and 9 points is still a good lead. I mean, it is always a good lead most of the time. Last season was a one off.

It isn't as black and white as some people are making out. There are numerous things that are affecting us this season, namely a ridiculous amount of injuries to key players. We haven't had a settled XI all season.

The football isn't consistent or great at the minute and I believe he needs to do something about it, but as per usual there are people going above and beyond to spread panic.

We will still win the league by at least 12-15 points IMO.

People seem to forget that Sevco and Aberdeen can drop points as well.

Nah they are so 'consistent' remember.

Huns would never lose at home against Hamilton, Hibs or St Johnstone...or away to Dundee. Aberdeen ALWAYS win their big games as well. Famous for it. Apart from Saturday...and the other 20 times in the past 4 year.

Fs I was annoyed at the flat performance yesterday but one or 2 points dropped and people lose all sense of reality.

11 games 9pts plus goal difference left aberdeen or huns would need to win all their games really.. 2 old firm games to come and 1 at pittodrie.

We will still walk the league and probably win the treble but the home performances have been dire for the most part all season. It’s actually been a chore to watch, like in Delias last season when we were just passing it about with no cutting edge.

I’ve genuinely not enjoyed 90% of the games I’ve been to this season.

I think the problem for us this season has been lack of goals, with Rogic, Roberts, Armstrong, Griff and Dembele being out for large parts it highlights our defense more.
We will come good when our starting 11 is more consistent and key players return.

BRENDAN Rodgers insists Celtic can surpass last week’s stellar showing against Zenit St Petersburg as they target a place in the UEFA Europa League last 16.

Every department of the team excelled as the Scottish champions dominated the Russian outfit in Paradise, with Callum McGregor’s late strike sealing a well-deserved 1-0 win in the first-leg of the last-32 clash.

On Thursday night, the Hoops will look to complete the job on Roberto Mancini’s side in the corresponding fixture but the manager is under no illusions at the severity of this assignment.

And speaking to the media ahead of the game, the Irishman was adamant that his charges must maintain the high standards they set seven days ago to have any prospect of continuing their European adventure.

“It would be a huge achievement for us,” he said. “Obviously the competition itself and European football is notoriously very difficult now for ourselves, but I think we showed in the first-leg how well we can play.

“We played a perfect game really in how the players defended and attacked. Of course, we would have liked to have had one or two more goals but the concentration and our quality in our game was at a very high level.

“We know that over the course of the two legs we need to replicate that, but the players are ready for that. They showed last week they can play. If they play with that aggression, quality and intensity, then it gives us a great opportunity.

“Zenit are predominately a counter-attacking team and they have obviously scored a lot of goals in this season so far, while they also have players of quality. But they may want to bring a bit more initiative to the game.

“For us, we have analysed the game from the first-leg and, even though we played very well, creating opportunities and didn’t concede, there are still areas where we can be better.

“As always, we like to play with aggression and with that educated pressure on the ball – if you can press, great, if not, make sure you’re super compact and then look to go from there and create opportunities. That will be our idea going into the game and we will look forward to working that way.”

In the lead-up to last week’s game at Celtic Park, Brendan Rodgers was firm in his conviction that Zenit, a team packed with international talent, were favourites to progress in the tie. His view hasn’t changed, despite how well the Hoops acquitted themselves in the home leg. But that doesn't mean he and his players are short on confidence.

“Our belief has always been there," said the manager. "At the beginning of the first-leg, I was being a realist as everyone would probably expect Zenit to go through but what we showed in the first-leg is that we’re going to make it very difficult for them and make it really competitive.

"They have been surprised at the quality of our football. They will be expected to go through over the two legs, so my mindset hasn’t changed. But what we showed in the first-leg is that if we play with our quality and to the top of our level then we can match any team.

“Listen, we have a real respect for the Zenit team as a whole. They are very creative, and I’m a big admirer of Bratislav Ivanovic. I worked with him at Chelsea and he’s had a brilliant career. He’s still a top professional and if he comes back into the team then it makes them much stronger.

“Their individual quality in the front area of the field will always be a threat to us. Paredes, the former Roma player in central midfield, is an outstanding talent but they have lots of talent in the team.

“We respect their game and respect how they play but when we go onto the football field we have to show our true face and our qualities. It should make for a really good game tomorrow night. The pitch will be very nice. I am looking forward to seeing the new stadium. The last time I was here with Liverpool, we played in a different stadium and I’m sure it will be a fantastic game.”

The Hoops boss also revealed that there was no fresh injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's tussle in the Krestovsky Stadium.

“We have nothing new really to add in terms of injuries," he said. "Obviously the guys who were available last week are still in the squad, so we are pretty much the same."
