KT, Dembele and Ntcham tripling up on the big dumpling down the left :35:

I used to like him but he was brutal at Chelsea the last 18 months or so he was there, his legs went like Lustig's have.

Is Ivanovic no a centre back for them?

That Smolnikov who got skinned alive is Russia's first team right back I'm sure. Remember him starting for them at the Euro's in France. Can't imagine him being a backup right back to Ivanovic..

He'd get ruined by KT down the left..

I can't see him in his 30's being exposed Ike that. Must be a centre half..

OVER the past three years, Kieran Tierney has firmly established himself as a key part of the Celtic squad. Not only that, but the 20 year-old has played more minutes than any other outfield player in all of Europe's top leagues this season.

Tierney admitted he had no idea of the incredible statistic until a friend alerted him to it, and he explained that he has no desire to miss a single minute of playing time in the team.

“My pal took a screen shot of that stat and sent it to me,” he told the official match programme for this Sunday’s game against St Johnstone. “It’s a crazy stat but a great one. For someone so young, to rack up so many appearances is why I’ve been able to make over 100 appearances already.

“I’m on near enough 50 games this season. That’s what you want, though. You want to learn and get experience and play all the time. Last year I was injured for a while, which isn’t nice, so when you’re fit, you want to play and luckily enough I’ve played a lot of games so far.

“You want to play at the top level and Celtic is a top-level club. I’ve played all the games in Europe, the six qualifiers and six group-stage games and hopefully I’ll have at least two more anyway.”

Tierney’s first start for Celtic came against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park just under three years ago, and the defender is ready to play his part against the Perth Saints this Sunday, having produced another top-class performance in the midweek win over Zenit St Petersburg.

“It was a midweek game and also one of the last games of the season,” Tierney explained to the official match programme. “I was told the day before the game so I buzzing. We had already won the league so there wasn’t as much pressure and we were told to go out and enjoy ourselves.

“I’ll always remember everything leading up to that game. I had been around the first-team for a while and had been on the bench plenty of times, but the whole experience was even more exciting knowing I was going to be starting the game.”

Having a chinwag in the pub before with a friend who's a massive united fan and thinks they should bring in Tierney. Think we both agreed (sadly for myself) that whilst he's playing for us there is only so much he can improve.

Thursday wasn't him 'back to his best' Thursday was his usual game. I know he loves Celtic but you can see how frustrated he gets in league games with Gordon & who ever the two CB our. If he was playing for say Spurs, he would look 10 times the player. Best example is to look at Robertson for Liverpool.

I just wish Scottish football collapsed and we had the remaining Scottish clubs join english football. I'm utterly fed up of our pathetic league bringing us down & having to be a feeder club for * Southampton.

We could be on to something big here with Rodgers leading the way, get 10 in a row and with any luck a better league. If we had TV money and exposure i'd be pretty confident big DD & PL would splash the cash!

We’d be in the lower leagues of English football playing against part timers for years. No chance.

Horrible attitude to have sorry. We cant progress anymore than we have done in our league, it hold us back. We are the only team that plays football in it FFS.

I'd take 4 years of lower league football to get into something like the PL. It frustrates me the fact these diddy teams can attract world class talent and we buy Dundee youngsters. We are so much better than this and i hope one day it will change.

Why is the EPL the be all and end all? I honestly don't get why anyone would want to be part of that set up. With the exception of about 6 it's full of plastic clubs with no ambition other than avoiding relegation. They treat just about every other competition they play in with contempt and look on them as a distraction, FA Cup and Europa League the main examples.

*, most are giving out clappers at their games so it's sounds like a better atmosphere. Ticket prices are a disgrace and the fans are continually ripped off. The grounds are full of tourists who spend more time taking pictures and filming themselves at the game to actually watch it.

We have our own ticket pricing issues here but would it really be worth £70 to go see us at Anfield or the Emirates? Is it *.

Folk who want to us in the EPL are usually the ones who see the 30 million in the bank as good as winning a trophy if not better. Thats a terrible attitude but it would fit in nicely down south.

The EPL is not the promised land you seem to think it is. It's a billionaires playground and full of run of the mill players on ridiculous wages. And I'm in no way a great advocate of the SPFL but your assertion that we are the only team who plays football in it is very short sighted. Hibs, Kilmarnock, Aberdeen are all examples of teams who play good football. The rest use what little resources they have to put a team on the pitch that can win a game using whatever advantages they have to do so. Some don't like it but end of the day, a football team needs to do whatever it needs to win a game because that is the objective at the end of the day for everyone whether you're Man U or Ross County.

So Scottish football isn't exactly holding us back. The lack of investment in it is holding everyone back. But is the solution to that for us to move to the EPL? Is it *. I'll happily take a Scottish League title over a 17th place finish in the EPL and all the riches that comes with it every season.

English clubs have money, but the game up there is sanitised and corporate. Scottish football has it's flaws, but at least we haven't sold our soul.

A bit more money to spend would be nice, but there are ways of improving that don't involve begging English football to let us in so we can pit ourselves against Kidderminster and Tamworth.

Scottish football has vastly improved since Brendan got here look at the other coaches Lennon and Clarke plus the players they attract clubs are better run now financially and attracting more fans to the gates aberdeen and hibs yesterday was a sell out . Our club is so close to European last sixteen all we need now is a better tv deal and other teams to do better in europe

Scottish football would have sold it's soul in a heartbeat if it was offered any sort of money. It definitely wasn't choice, Scottish football was just never given the option to do so.

id rather pay that than £50 to watch a club thats just formed FFS.

Seriously? they were out of the Europa before the group stage?

The SFA don't want Scottish football to go forward, they've just brought the biggest dinosaur who's not managed for nearly 3 year to be national manager FFS! They seem to be living in the 80s where long balls and kicking * out the opposition is great.

    Class!

Late on in the game and still has the desire to burst forward like that, you can't teach it.
