As much as I think Vorm is a good keeper, I don’t fancy a glorified trialist playing against Zenit either.

BR seems happy with the work done in the window and he doesn't seem like the type to be a board puppet and tow the company line.

If he was unhappy with his backing, I think he would have come out and said it straight.

Seems to me like he genuinely got every player he wanted to sign, including Musonda who was arguably one of the deals of the entire transfer window given his growing reputation and potential. He's ours for 18 months at the very least. Look at the impact Roberts had in his first 18 months and then consider that Musonda could turn out to be even better.

Hendry - young, Scottish, potentially great signing for a minimal fee, seems to have all the attributes to be a top class defender some day.

Morgan - same as Hendry in every sense apart from the position he plays in.

Compper - not the most exciting signing, especially as he got injured literally as soon as he got here, but his experience could come in useful for young defenders like Ajer and Hendry, as well as other young players in the squad.

Bain - signed solely to plug a gap short term, don't expect him to be here next season and I think he's very much a temporary solution to a problem that will be solved permanently in the summer.

Musonda - speaks for itself, one of the highest rated young players in the UK.

Wouldn't have been ideal but neither is this situation we're in. We should've been looking to bring one in early like Compper. It's more because of his obvious link with Brendan and that he should be a target as with no transfer fee to pay we could offer higher wages/signing on fee.

Why do some people still have it in for De Vries?

He didn’t have the best of starts at Celtic but in his last few games he’s made some good saves. He was Nottingham Forest’s POTY before we signed him. He’s obviously a competent goalkeeper.

Despite Rodgers clearly being chuffed and personally thanking Desmond and Lawwell for getting all our targets in.

If you have a problem with our signings, then it’s Rodgers you are criticising. Not big bad Peter.

Yes, he's made some good saves but that should be expected of any professional GK. Just doesn't instill confidence. Could be a case of not being able to hold his concentration in a more dominant side as us pretty common in keepers that do great at lesser sides but struggle when they move up. It's not like I don't want him to do well I just don't think he's upto the job.

I see what you are saying but you could look at it like this.

Hendry is he better than what we have currently? For me no he shouldn't be in the first 11.

I would expect us to look at the centre half position again in the summer because it's not been addressed.

Morgan - If he was good enough he wouldn't have been loaned back, and when he comes in the summer is he really gonna get any sort of game time?

Sinclair, Forrest, Hayes, Musonda, possibly Roberts. The bhoy is never gonna get game time look at this season with Hayes hardly had a sniff.

Compper - not sure on at all, unlucky to be out but it' gonna be more than a month till he is back to match fitness plus cup tied as well and he will be 33 by the time our champions league fixtures are upon us and he will give us maybe 1 good season and we need another centre half again.

Bain we needed for cover understand that

Musonda is a great prospect and could do us a massive turn when he fits into our side.

I know Rodgers has come out and said he is happy we will just habe to wait and see with these signings.

I think it must have been made clear to Brendan before he agreed to join what his transfer budget was likely to be. He was probably told that we would give him a big salary but he would have to do his best with limited funds.
MON and Lenny always let it be known that they wanted more money spent on the team but that doesn’t seem to be Brendan’s style at all.
He can’t be anything but happy if he was told what to expect beforehand.

That's my opinion of Rodgers. When he first came In I was over the moon as thought he had the board by the balls & would be backed. I have come to the realisation that Bredan took the bigger pay packet in order to work within the boards restraints

Admittedly he had a bad start but since then I've been impressed in his fleeting appearances. He was outstanding v Dundee a few months back, made a few outrageous saves that day to save our win.

    1.20secs onwards...

    * * is bain or hendry or fullstops really the height of your expectation

almost 33, I'd like to see a more long term solution to our defensive woes I can live with the fact he's german

Mind this window from last year. Almost like history repeating itself, sadly. Quite worrying how little we have leqrned. Some crazy talk mind you. Some right, some way wide of the mark.

Below in response to the above.
