I know I know I know, youtube videos. And not many to go on for this guy. But judging purely from this video, he already is better than Gordon in the fact he comes out of his six yard box, has a bit of speed about him, quick reflexes, stands his ground, acrobatic enough and didn't get beat at his near post for that one highlight late on.

Other than this video, honestly no idea I am going off of his reputation and his age. Rather we went after this sort of player, hungry to do well etc and a good age. Than someone who has proven not to be good enough and is on the wrong side of 30 for my liking.

For me, what would be so wrong about Martinez on a 2.5 year contract, 6 months to bed in, then ship out DDV and Gordon in summer, promote Hazard to backup to Martinez and play in the cups etc.

He has 53 games in 1st team football by the age of 25. Must be a reason for that.

People are doing Gordon are a horrible disservice by saying he would be better.

It's doing Celtic a horrible disservice that we still persist with him. More so if we don't take this opportunity to bring in the future keeper.
Watch as Gordon thinks his position is completely safe if we don't actually go out and replace him now. Guy will be on easy street knowing he is first pick for next season already.

Not saying we don't improve on Gordon.

But panicking and buying a 25 year old Arsenal reject who has never had a sustained period of football in his career to replace him would be laughable.

Fair enough for 3 months or so but when we do replace him, we need to spend good money. GK is a crucial area.

Well neither, but Martinez in particular. He’s done * all in his career really.

    I’d rather have Gordon.

Absolutely valid points regarding his appearances etc. No doubting it, but guys seemingly got something in his locker.

Perhaps a 4 month loan deal on this guy, with the option to buy? Would perhaps be best of both worlds in giving us cover and allowing us to judge him better as a long term replacement.

For the record, I am only going on this based on the weak * link we got made with. Chances are there is * all in it anyway.

BRENDAN Rodgers last night stressed he will add a new keeper to his squad before the January transfer window closes tonight as he was linked with a move for Scott Bain of Dundee.

Rodgers, whose side moved 14 points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership last night with a 3-1 win over Hearts at Parkhead, is set to be without his injured first choice goalie Craig Gordon for at least three months.

The Scottish champions had an initial offer of £200,000 for Motherwell player Trevor Carson turned down by the Fir Park club yesterday and were later linked with Bain even though the player is currently on loan at Hibernian.

“I’ll need to speak to Peter (Celtic chief executive Lawwell) but there was nothing changed before the game,” said Rodgers. “We want to bring in another goalkeeper but there’s been lots of names fired at us. We will have one in by end of play.

“We want a goalkeeper that fits our idea of how we play. That’s important. Whoever comes in has to be able to play with his feet and build the game, but, most importantly, make saves. I could sit here all day and go through the names but he (Bain) is one of many mentioned.”

Rodgers has brought in Marvin Compper and Lewis Morgan, who has been loaned back to St. Mirren, on permanent deals as well as Charly Musonda, who made his debut when he came on in the second half last night, on loan from Chelsea during the window.

The Northern Irishman admitted he would also like to add another outfield player to his squad, but he declined to say whether Celtic had made an improved offer of around £1 million for Dundee centre half Jack Hendry yesterday.

“Ideally we’ll have a goalkeeper and one other,” he said. “I’ve been in a game for 90 minutes so I don’t know what the story is (with Hendry).”

Rodgers praised the performance of Musonda, the 21-year-old playmaker who has joined Celtic on an 18 month loan deal, but urged supporters to be patient with the baby-faced Belgian.

“It’s going to take him a wee bit of time just to find the rhythm of new team mates,” he said. “But you see his qualities. He has that creative imagination to open the game up. It was nice for him to feel the crowd and the support here and he will be a great addition for us.”

Rodgers also praised Moussa Dembele, who had a hand in the home team’s first two goals and scored the third, for his contribution to the victory over Hearts.

“We sat down during the week and had a chat over a few days,” he said. “We pulled together some videos of his work and talked about his strengths. Through everything that’s gone on, he’s maybe come away from those strengths.

“So it was a case of breaking it down and highlighting the type of player he is. When he’s pressing and on the line then he’s very hard to cope with. That was much more like him tonight.”

Mc Cann wouldn't answer any questions about Hendry or Bain. Bain would be a decent acquisition for domestic duties.
