Compper is ineligible for Zenit. We need to bring in a CB who is eligible, and punt Boyata/Šimunović.

 

Possibly, I agree on Boyata (although was excellent in Belgium) I still have hope for Simunovic.

Without moving one on which is easier said than done, I can see why we've not brought another in.

I've actually warmed to the Hendry signing if it happens, let them all battle it out.

Simunovic, Ajer, Compper should be good enough for CL qualifiers.

Hendry isn't even the best defender in the SPFL we could get, according to some posters on that thread. We better not be stooping to the levels of him and Carson.

On Šimunović...I don't really think he wants to be here? He's doing things he would have not ever done in a last seasn's game.

 

It does look that way with Simunovic at times, but what's not in doubt is his ability it's a big second half of the season for him.

Hendry I haven't seen a lot of myself tbh, but if BR wants him I trust his judgment around it. Being quick and good on the ball are two attributes to work with.

I don't mind a backup keeper coming in ..but i don't think Hendry is the right move no better than what we have..Aim for Higher level CB or Striker of Musonda quality.

 

Celtic are eyeing a deal for Arsenal’s Emiliano Martinez but need his current loan club Getafe to agree to the deal, according to the Sun.

The Argentine is playing second fiddle to Vicente Guaita at the Spanish outfit but Guaita has already agreed a pre-contract with Crystal Palace and could sign a permanent deal in January if the clubs can agree a fee.

Getafe aren’t willing to allow Martinez to tear up his loan deal until they know if Guaita’s future, and that could cause problems for Brendan Rodgers as he searches for a replacement for Craig Gordon.

But Leeds also want to sign the 25-year-old.

 

I’ve got a feeling we’ve went in for Hendry and Carson in order to find out what it would cost us, whilst looking elsewhere for better options. If we can’t secure better, we know signing either of those two could comfortably be done late on tomorrow.

Where’s this * about Simunovic came from? Midfielders and strikers generally get away with being out of form but defenders are out the door at the first sniff.

 

A young CB in the Van Dyk mould who can play out from the back would be ideal , Rodgers type of CH..might cost 3-4m though for that type.

 

Been out on loan most his career, came through the Arsenal youths. Won league one with wolves, same season griff finished top scorer.

 

Hearing we're after Joseph Hart.

 

Played a few cup games for Arsenal anyway.

 

I've rated him massively but a concern was always his injuries..

This season though it's felt like more than that. A lack of form due to him maybe wanting away. He just hasn't looked at it..

We can understand it at the top table Champions League but he's been getting caught out and under ball's far too much. Tynecastle was unbelievably bad and completely put me off him..

Hopefully he can come back strong as when he is, he's a good player. Hope his mindset isn't too fragile as it does seem to be..

Martinet would be ideal.
Good age, decent experience and needs to find his place in a title winning side.
Wouldnt cost much in wages or a fee.


Its that sort of player a lot of us want to go after, and it is a reasonable ask.
