We were only able to secure him for 500k due to cross border compensation fees. An English club would have had to pay several million pounds for him.

 

We didn't get him for 500k because he was unknown, we got him because he was out of contract and that was the compensation we had to pay for development. If he was in contract and an actual transfer fee was involved it would have been a few mil, like kouassi/n'tcham type fees probably, he was well rated.

 

Not gonna lie, our dealings this window have been underwhelming, to say the very least. I obviously don't want to doubt Rodgers, he's a terrific manager and we're lucky to have him, but there's glaring weaknesses in our team that should of been sorted last summer, let alone now. Back up for Tierney and another centerback should of at least been signed this window, with right back, goalkeeper and creative midfielder also needing looked at. I think Compper will be decent and Morgan will probably replace Hayes who i doubt will stay past the summer, but it's amazing Rodgers hasn't seen our need for freshness in the team

This is spot on. Team still looks very fragile under pressure and an injection of quality is needed (I'm thinking RB, CB, No.10). Tricky run of fixtures coming up. Think we have Hibs, Hearts, Sheep, Killie, though not sure what order. We have the opportunity to make a real statement during this window, I hope we take it.

Interesting piece, average team salaries. Find us sitting at 192 of sports clubs that involves Football, Baseball, NFL, basketball and teams from across the world. 33 teams in total. We sit below the middle in what we spend on average salaries.
Perhaps nothing surprising when we know the money branded around in other sports and leagues. But is interesting to see what other teams sit in and around our position.

 

If correct, I'm very surprised to see us that high up the list.

13k a week average for first team players. Sounds fair enough for what we know some of our top earners are on.
