Why is there a propensity to even assume that its always the Footballing worlds problem that we cannot recruit any of the words players that is good enough to play in the SPFL and Europe?

Word on the street is we're in for a young up and coming striker who is looking to leave his current club. Whipper snapper called Kenneth Miller, I've heard he's got family in Glasgow too.

A thread on the PLC and it's shareholders and the merits of that system balanced against that of Fan Ownership for example would be useful..

DD doesn't take a dividend, is that correct for example?

Could we have secured BR without him? Does his billions provide more Security etc.. it's worth a thread I feel..

If not I'll do it later when not on my phone. We've had a few threads before but not one that examines the makeup of the PLC and what exactly the shareholders take from the Club..

Seems there's a lack of transparency and accountability, to me..

We have had time to scout these players there is a list that the scouts will provide and then moves can be made.

It' funny how others can find it very easy to go out and sign players they need. Why are we so different?

It's always the same scaremngering oh the price goes up, deals just can' get done because it's January or we tried but couldn't get it over the line.....

We are famous for dragging our heels time and time again we can only get away with it for so long before someone like Rodgers walks away.

We have * up plenty of times under this board from position of strength, I hope tae * we don't do it again.

DD was eligable for a £4.36m dividend last season which i am sure he would have taken and is entitled to it.

Lawwell got a £800,000 bonus also for us making the UCL Group stages as part of a long term plan which the board approved in 2015.

In short yes we could have secured BR without him but him being there i am sure makes it easier but not by much.

There is a PLC thread made up already i am sure.

Earlier in this thread i did my best to break down and explain the account and how it is all made up but dont want to come accross as an * who studies celtics accounts everyday but i do try to look at where the finance comes and goes in a "drill down" manner.

If you look at page 58 of the accounts and defered income of £22.3m received thats ticket money and sponsorship recevied prior to the year end therefore that will role into the actual 2017/18 accounts and is most likely Season Ticket money £22.3m divided by 53,000 season tickets is average ST price of £420 but i normally reduce that to £400.00 average price so some sponsorship will make up the £22.3m but exepct to see that in interim report and also a portion of UCL money but not all of it.

Celtic paid out £1.967m in signing on fees to bosman players Dembele and Toure in 2016/17 accounts and £3.338m in bouns payments to players for success on the park.

    See below about cash reserves which i mention on the £24m surplus we have;

"The Group deposits surplus funds in a number of banks in accordance with the Group’s treasury management policy based on internal credit limits aligned with Moody’s ratings in order to restrict credit risk to financial assets in the form of monetary deposits. However, throughout both 2017 and 2016, The Co-operative Bank was in a net lending position, as £6.65m (2016: £6.85m) of the available loan facility, as noted above, is required to be drawn down for the term of the facility agreement."

100% with this, we failed to add quality that was needed and we lost the league and gave them a life line.

I'm not saying we will lose the league but we need to add quality to the side.
