Aye I used to really dislike Bristow but he actually comes across as quite a good *, he said the only two players he really feared was Jocky and Sid Lowe. And as you say Jocky ended up in poverty basically and wouldn’t leave the house. Big Bristow said they always went for a bevvy after a match and Jocky definitely won that contest.

I know at lot of these players aren’t full time professionals but it is is absolutely gash compared to the pdc. * scoring 7 and take about 10 mins to win a leg.

Gary Anderson never won the Lakeside but has won the PDC twice. BDO must be a higher standard.

 

Yes though huge rivals on the oche,they were good friends off the stage,Dave Whitcombe was also good friends with Jocky both on and off the stage.Jocky was far more inconsistent than Bristow and lowe thus winning fewer TV Titles,but in challenge matches off the screen he won more than often,especially his favoured 1001 legs,he once hit a 19 darter at that!!

 

The BDO is clearly the much smaller event now,though a bit bigger when Ando failed to win it was still smaller than the PDC Event.The standard of today's has dropped where the PDC has increased year by year.Out of the top 30 players today,27 are in the PDC,that says it all.
Whenever there has been challenge matches between the winners of the the 2 Events the PDC Champ has always won with ease.
