You see it happen a lot ,people go overboard on certain players ,mcginn being 1 ,when he is given a task to stiffle brown ,if we dont function he has done his job ,he will be raising his game big time against us as most players /teams do ,so his level may not be quite wot we see always ,one of the better players in spl ,so was johny hayes ,im not convinced he can make us better and thats wot this stage should be about for br .

    I disagree..

He has everything that we lacked v The Huns, under BR and surrounded by good players playing next to Broonie he’d flourish.

On Eboue, he should have played more, why hasn’t he? Must be an issue..

  5. I hope so.

It is clear we need to strengthen with quality..

Teams have improved better coaches are involved in the league this season, they know how to set up against us too.

We have a nucleus of a decent squad but our CL performances and some domestic showings illustrate the need to add a bit of class. I’m not against adding the likes of Morgan, McGinn or even Hendry (although think we need much better than Hendry) as long as we add some real quality. Preferably on permanent deals.

Dunno with Eboue, any time I have seen him this season he has looked decent.

Maybe McGinn would flourish in our team but I would rather pay an additional £1m if the fee is £2.5m and get someone with better talent and pedigree

I think our problem is attracting the right player dispite our cash flow/reserves.

We already have too big a squad especially in midfield .

Think Commper will be a good buy and probably another experienced player would be a good add to the squad.

We’ll see I gusss, it’s BRs 4th window and considering what he has achieved and how little we’ve spent in the other 3 windows he deserves some serious backing..

100% correct that’s a fact. Especially if we sell a significant amount of players this window!

Players would be stupid to think we wouldn’t be an attractive club to sign for.

Wanyama, Van Dijk, Forster have all got moves to the premier league. Dembele will probably be joining them there either this month or in the summer.

We can offer European football and if a player has the ability and potential they will get more of a chance here than at some other clubs to play regularly in the first team.

    I agree with you.

I also think a lot of players want to hit the EPL asap.

I'm not that comfortable with us being a steppingstone club if that's what bracket were in which it most likely is.

We've been a stepping stone club for 15 years already and will continue to be that until the day we join a bigger and more profitable league or the other profitable leagues around us collapses financially. I doubt any of those scenarios will happen anytime soon though.

Yeah it’s a shame to see great players leave but I don’t mind that as long as they are replaced with similar quality or better. Thing I hate the most is when we are raking in the money through player sales, champions league money, season ticket sales and we don’t spend purely on projects.

We are not going to buy £5 million+ players for every position but I think it is important to have a balance of experience and potential in the side.

If we are constantly going to sell our best players which inevitably will happen at some point and constantly bring in projects we are not going to see much improvement because by the time the projects have developed into quality they will be sold and then we are back at square one and repeating the trend.

Brendan deserves money to spend. He has got to the champions league group stages two years in a row and won the treble. It is obvious that we need proven quality in defence and a quality goalkeeper who can play the way Brendan wants if he doesn’t think De Vries is up to it. Other positions are needing additions as well if we are going to improve from last season.

We just gave him a contract extension, I’m not sure Rodgers sees a GK as a priority.

Our business model has worked well - but potential, sell for a healthy profit..

And we should absolutely continue this highly successful strategy.

However, it’s time to throw in some real quality established players around the £5m mark..

I know that but he keeps persistenting with Gordon when De Vries was the keeper he had at Swansea when they played fantastic passing football.

De Vries is more comfortable with Brendan’s way of playing than Gordon so why not use him?

See if he doesn’t that’s a serious blind spot.. as it’s glaring to most.

Maybe not this window but next..
