I think the players still look tiredish paul but the weight of the run was no doubt being heavy on them, playing without fear again! Nice win on Saturday and everyone is away into 2018 happy as *!

Always thought MON would be the gold standard that all modern day Celtic managers would be held up to.

Brendan just might turn out to be better than MON. Just need to get a decent European run going.

I think you can already tell the player's are relieved it's gone..

We looked terrific second half against the sheep and ran all over them. Then same again against Dundee finstead half and when it was won we took the foot off the gas..

BR: "They’re always great fixtures to be involved in wherever they’re at. Of course it’s always special to play these games at Celtic Park and it's the last game of what has been an incredible year for us, we obviously want to win it."

BR: "We want to make our supporters proud and we want to win the game. We want to finish off with three points and look to perform well."

BR: "This will be my 97th game here at Celtic. I was manager of Swansea for 96 games and I was there for a couple of seasons, I’ve been here a lot less than that, so it just shows you the number of games we’ve been playing."

BR: "If we’re playing games and winning trophies then, of course, we’re going to be playing these number of games and that’s what we hope to continue into the new year.

BR on @jonnyhayes15: "We’re obviously gutted for Jonny because he’s really settled in over the past few months and you’ve seen his performance level. He’s had the operation and it looks like he’ll be out for the rest of the season."

BR: "I went to see him in the hospital after his operation. He’s recovering very well from it and he’s under great care here with the football club. We’ll look after Jonny and get him back as quick as we can."

SATURDAY’S Glasgow Derby will be Brendan Rodgers’ 97th competitive match as Celtic manager, and in nearly a century of games he’s delivered incredible and historic success to the club.

This season, the Hoops have already played 37 games, so the upcoming winter break will be a welcome one for the Scottish champions. However, if it’s a choice between more or fewer games, the Celtic manager will always choose the former, given it’s an indicator of the team’s success across various competitions.

“We actually play our 38th game of the season tomorrow which, up here and down south, is a season’s playing, and we’re doing that within this period of half a season,” he said.

“This will also be my 97th game here at Celtic. I played 96 games as manager of Swansea and I was there for a couple of seasons, and I’ve been here a lot less than that, so it just shows you the number of games we’ve been playing, but it all points to having great success and that’s what we want.

“If we’re playing games and winning titles then, of course, we’re going to be playing this number of games and that’s what we hope to continue into the new year.”

The manager was also asked about the imminent transfer of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton to Liverpool for a fee reported to be in the region of £75million. The former Celtic defender missed out on a move to Anfield in the summer, but now that the transfer is set to go through on January 1, the Hoops boss said that the Dutchman is going to a great club.

“He went on to a really good club in Southampton at the time and got some Premier League experience,” Brendan Rodgers said. “Now he’s gone on to Liverpool and I’m sure he’ll show the Liverpool supporters what a good player he is.

“He’s the most expensive defender in the world but I think that football prices now are on the up and obviously there’s more money in the game. He can’t worry about that. He just has to go and work and play, and I’m sure he’ll do very well.

“It’s obviously great for Virgil because he’s gone to a brilliant club where every aspect of you as a player is tested – how you cope under pressure, and the microscope now goes on to him in every game he plays, but he looks a great talent. He’s gone on to a great club and hopefully he’ll prove that.”

Eight games, Mark Warburton, Graeme Murty, Pedro Caixinha, Joey Barton, Nicko Krancjcar, Alfredo Morelos, The Union Bears and Dave King and they STILL haven't beaten him.

He has the hex over them like nobody else in history. He is their ultimate nightmare.

Don't often criticise Rodgers, for obvious reasons, but today he got things all wrong.

Picking Armstrong ahead of Ntcham and then when things evidently weren't happening taking far too long to change it up.

Wasn't Armstrong that was the problem for me today, it was McGregor. A midfield trio of Brown, Armstrong, and Ntcham would've done the business for me today.

Big month for the manager but I think we'll be a much more confident team with the change at the back.

Armstrong was horrendous. His passing, control, set piece delivery and attitude were all substandard. McGregor wasn't excellent by any means but didn't hide.

    Two massive mistakes today.

    First was not starting Ntcham.

Second was not bringing Ntcham on at half time today.

Had either of those happened, I reckon we’d have won.
