Utter rubbish. The boys obviously got heart and passion. Thats what he showed and the only one acting out for the media was Neymark.

Sure he will come back strong from his injury and Rodgers will give him a chance to show how good he is.

I reckon he has a great chance but time will tell. Not sure why others are so keen to rubbish our clubs talent when it starts to break through.

CELTIC are delighted to announce that Anthony Ralston has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with the club, which will see him remain at Paradise until at least the summer of 2022.

The 19-year-old made his first-team debut against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in May 2016, coming on as a substitute in the game. And the following season, he got his first start, also against St Johnstone, in a 4-1 victory at Paradise at the start of May this year.

This season, as part of Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad, he has made seven first-team appearances, including a Champions League start against Paris Saint-Germain at Celtic Park, while he also netted his first goal for the Hoops in a 5-0 League Cup win over Kilmarnock.

He’s also had to deal with an injury setback, but is now back training on the road to full fitness, aiming to play his part in the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign, and beyond into the years ahead.

Speaking exclusively to the official Celtic website, the Hoops defender said: “It’s a great feeling to sign with the club I’ve been with since I’ve been young. This is where I want to be and I want to start playing more games. I’ve enjoyed getting a taste of it and I’m looking forward to the future.

”It’s great, with the length of the contract, to have that out the way and I can focus on the football side of things. It’s a great feeling and I’m delighted.

“There are so many ups and downs that come with being a footballer. I’ve enjoyed the experiences I’ve had up to now. With the injury, it’s just one of these things that happen and it’s how you come back from it.

“But it’s been a good start for me in my career and signing the contract now, I’m just looking forward to getting on with my football over the next few years.”

Anthony Ralston is one of a number of Youth Academy graduates who have progressed into the first-team, joining the likes of James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Kieran Tierney as top-team players.

And he explained that the manager’s willingness to give young players a chance is a real motivation for all the Academy Bhoys.

“It’s great and that’s what the gaffer does,” he said. “It gives the young boys a lot of hope coming through that they can get the chance if they work hard. It’s great to see players coming through and hopefully there’s a lot more to come from me in the years ahead.

“For 2018, I just want to get my head down, work hard to get back to full fitness and kick on with the football, but signing this new contract has definitely been the best Christmas present!”
