    Sevilla have sacked head coach Eduardo Berizzo a week after he returned from cancer surgery.

    The Argentine, 48, took charge of the 0-0 draw with Levante on 15 December following a successful prostate operation in November.

    Sevilla, who lost 3-1 at Real Sociedad on Wednesday, have taken only one point from their past three La Liga games and are fifth in the table, 13 points behind leaders Barcelona.

    Berizzo joined from Celta Vigo in May.

    His condition was made public after Sevilla came from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Liverpool in the Champions League group stage on 21 November.

    In a statement, Sevilla said the process to find a new head coach had started.

    Their next match is at home to rivals Real Betis on 6 January.

    Sevilla face Manchester United in the Champions League last 16, with the first leg in Seville on 21 February.






    The Board of Directors of Sevilla FC , meeting this Friday, December 22 in the afternoon, has taken the decision to dismiss the coach of the first team, Eduardo Berizzo , due to the team's bad run .

    Sevilla FC would like to express their gratitude to Eduardo Berizzo for his professionalism and dedicationshown in the performance of his work, as well as for the good treatment given to all members of the club since his arrival.

    On the other hand, Sevilla FC reports that it has already begun talks to formalize the hiring of the new coach of Sevilla FC , which is expected to join the return of the staff after the Christmas holidays.

    Barca set up is a bit weird. Messi anonymous in the middle, Suarez totally isolated through the middle and no real penetration down the wings.

    Madrid want this more, but they look more vulnerable with the very high press/line
